If you're putting your picture on, can I get your piggybank avatar? :3
Haha (: Kidding. Well, if people are willing to post all their personal information onto Social Platforms like Facebook, along with their phone numbers and workplaces, then I guess it wouldn't be too bad if you put yours on too (:
Think: Safety in numbers :3

You can use the little piggybank avatar now if you like. It's nice to know someone appreciates the piggy even though I don't use it anymore. I wouldn't give out personal information but putting a picture on here seems a little like it even if strangers see my face when I go out anyways. Thanks for your response. Take good care of my piggybank

I actually really like it when I see that someone has themselves as their avatar. I have a personal preference for that as it does make it feel like you are talking to someone, rather than something. I sort of cheated when I first joined and got a picture of an anime character's face so it was sort of personal, just not me lol. I am thinking I will change it to me sometime if I can find a half decent picture of myself that won't scare off other members lol. But yea, if you are thinking it would be a good idea to put a piccy of yourself up, then I fully approve :)
Maybe you could do it on a trial basis, try it for a week and if seeing yourself on mylot is a little too strange then change it back. You don't have to keep it when you have changed it if you don't want to lol.
All the best and happy mylotting,
Dranz

I like is as well when I can see pictures of my friends on mylot. Icons could also be personal since the user picked them themselves. The trial idea is a nice idea. I might try that. Still not sure if I want my own picture as my avatar though. Thanks for your response.

Do you have any picture editing software? You could take a picture of yourself and manipulate it a little until you feel more comfortable and then add it in that form. I do that with pictures I share sometimes, make sure that they only really show me and nothing else (my room for example), that way I feel a touch happier. Changing the contrast helps too for some strange reason, it gives the photo a surreal look so it is still me, but maybe a little less personal. Either that or I just take lots of pictures until I find one I feel proud of and want to share.
Good luck with the decision though and I do look forward to seeing what you come up with :)

Hi anime! I don't know what to tell you! I think that is a
decision that only you can make! I don't have a camera so
I can't put any pictures up! If I didn my avatar would be
a picture of my two cats! I probably would have a picture
of me in my photo collection, well at least one! But, I can't
tell you if it is an ok thing to do or not! I really don't
know! I'm not sure if I would feel safe or not if I was a
younger person. Too many weird things happen with online
stuff so I don't want to be the one to say yes or no!

I know that it is up to me in the end of the day but I'm having a hard time deciding whether I really want to upload a picture of not. I think it would be nice to have a picture of pets. I'm considering uploading a picture of my pet bird. I would love to see your two cats but your opal is really beautiful too. Thanks for your response.

That's a nice idea. I could have a picture of myself but just not show my whole face so I could be more comfortable. I like the way you posed in the picture for our avatar. Thanks for the idea

It depends on you, for me i prefer not to show my own picture.
Well, as you can see most of us here in mylot, doesn't have an avatar showing their own picture..
But if you want still to post it, there's no need to worry. Mylot is a great site and i know they will not use it for bad purposes..
Good Luck and Happy Mylotting!...

There's not a lot of people having their own picture as their avatar but there is quiet a few. I know it depends on me but I can't decide whether to do it or not. Maybe I could decide after I see more opinions. Thanks for your response.

Don't say that. Your avatar looks really pretty. The background is a little dark though. I also want my friends to know more about who I am. ^~^ I'll try not to be afraid. Thanks for your response.

Thats not wrong..hering this from a american women is really exhausting...i though that americans were bold people and not like Indians..Only in India women really make a big thing to display their picture to the website they are in and if they do also their face would not be that visible..its totally safe to have your photo as display image since websites like these are foolproof that they dont allow other sites to take your picture that easily...
Happy Mylotting...

I think it would be nice. A ostrich bird? That sounds good too. Maybe I could upload a picture of my pet bird instead. He is really gorgeous and more gorgeous than me any day. Thanks for the idea.

Hey, its your avatar space, do what you will. If you do use your face, good for you. I don't think it'll be too bad on here.
I'm not one to use mine especially since I've preferred my avatars way more (plus they look better anyways ;p)

hi anime
i personnaly do not like to use my own image as avatar ... i prefer to be the invisible one ...
I am too personal in my discussions, i am myself here, i say what i feel and do not change or retract my opinion to suit anyone ...
I am totally a different person in my real life, as i have learned to pretend dumb and keep my mouth shut in order to retain "peace" in my life ...
I do not want people, especially my family or friends to know who i am
Furthermore, my avatar defines my personality , beautiful flower, smells good, transperent, black and white
cheers

I do get a little personal with my responses on mylot. That's why I'm worried about being exposed if I upload my picture. I'm more quiet in real life and I give my thoughts more often here. I don't know. I still would like other users to see how I look like. It shouldn't be but....hard decision. Thanks for your response.

I'm not afraid of showing my face buy it feel a little like giving away too much of myself on the internet. I think I would leave it out to how my pictures look. Thanks for your thoughts

Hi animegirl, I would definitely advise against it. There are over one hundred and eighty thousand users registered to this site, many of them inactive but still with access, and from that large quantity of people you should consider what percentage of them are likely to be loopy loops. Personally I like to see a members picture up there, but think on the whole it's a safer option for the men.

That's a great idea but too bad I don't have photoshop though. Maybe I could still find other ways to mess with my picture though. Thanks for the response

I use my picture as my avatar because I feel comfortable with it. However, I don't give out any traceable personal information which could give the 'loopy loops' as Thea calls them clues to my exact location. I like to see a picture of someone rather than an icon, as it makes the person you are talking to seem real. However, in the long run it's what you post that really speaks volumes about you and the sort of person you are, not your avatar or picture. Just do what you feel comfortable with.
