Have you ever felt this frustrated/anxious/depressed over something or someone?

I am starting to feel really down these past few days and I'm fighting it real hard. Unlike my previous "attacks", I try to conceal this one and just keep it to myself. But I realized I should vent this out and get this off my chest. Okay, my number one frustration is me still being unemployed for more than a year now, 2 years in February 2010. How frustrating can that get? Okay, the first 10 months after I graduated I took some time off and only applied to one company. I spent that year waiting and attending the initial interview and second interview yet at the same time enjoying life after school. But when this year started, literally the first of January 2009 I started sending out my CVs to a lot of companies (at least 5 a day). And when I received no call, I took another month off. And then I started applying again. Off. Again. Interview here. Interview there. Apply again. Off. Seriously!? I am just so tired waiting to get a job. I NEED a job. I just want to feel passive. No expectations. No feelings. I'll just apply but I won't expect any calls. If I get an interview then good, if not then no disappointments. I don't know.

be a brave person and wait for the luck to go with you. be positive to life and the success will soon come to you. its a natural thing that people get depressed at times but should come out soon and try to get gud results with hard work on. trying must go on untill you succeed.

I'm really sorry this is happening to you. It's so hard in this U.S. economy now to get a job, even if you have all types of credentials. I think you're doing the right thing by writing about it here. When I get frustrated I will write down the problem here and people are so nice and helpful with their responses here. Plus, it just makes me feel better to get it off my chest in a safe way by telling people on MyLot about my problem, whatever it might be. I always feel better just writing about my problems here. I think the suggestions others have here about trying the temp agencies are good ones. A lot of times, if the company likes you, they will end up hiring you away from the temp agency. I got a few jobs like that in the past and kept one for several years before my husband got transferred to another city and we had to move. And, even if a company is not looking for someone to fill the temp position full time, it's a good way to bring in a little bit of income. Sometimes temp agencies don't have work either, but many sometimes do have work when no one else is hiring since a lot of companies just need someone to fill in for a short while. It might be worth signing up with a couple of agencies just to try them out. Good luck with your job search. I know it's especially hard these days. It's difficult not to feel frustrated with it all.

1) the economic conditions of the world make it harder for everyone right now, 2)Perhaps you should lower your expectations--get a job--any job--that will a) add material to your resume` and b)beef up your self-esteem, c)not to mention help you pay your bills. DR...

I'm sorry, hon. I see this happening to people close to me. Is there a possibility that while you keep sending out your resume and going to interviews, that you could work at a temp agency? So you could be bringing in money while you wait to get the job you really want? My mom is going to do that. She quit her job two years ago due to her health. Now she has to go back to work. My dad is working double time to make ends meet. But she keeps getting told she is overqualified. She has a Masters degree, but she doesn't care if the job is something she is overqualified for. She wants a steady job, and doesn't care. So she is going to go to a temp agency until she can find a job.

Well, with the current recession now, u are not the only one feeling this way.. IT's ok, and u should take your time to find something u really like.. In the meanwhile, taking up some part time jobs will be as good, for u will be able to get some income.. Dun see yourself as being idle or whatever, for good things are worth the wait.. U din get any calls or interview, does not mean u are not good.. IT's just that there are better candidates out there.. If u have the time, think over on what u might have done wrong during interviews, and work on it, to ensure success on the next time ^_^

It is very frustrating looking for work... especially in this economy. You could do something part-time or temp work. Some agencies will keep you so busy that you feel as if you are working full-time and they pay pretty well.
