I know my response may be a bit strange but after really thinking about this and reading the other posts, my first answer, which would have been cat, changed because my thinking changed.
If I were to come back as an amimal I would say I would want to come back as a cockroach.
I absolutely HATE cockroaches, and I see no good reason why they are here. They are disgusting, and creepy, and worthless in my opinion.
So I would like to come back as one to figure out why they are here. What is their purpose, you know to get see thier side of things. Since I hate them so much, it would be interesting to see their point of view and maybe I could get a better understanding of their importance here on Earth.
I would be able to see how they actually live their lives, and what kind of personalities they have, if any, and what they do with their days besides freaking humans out.
Then when I was reborn again, I would maybe not hate them so much as I do now.

That is definately an interesting response. But it's also kind of cool that you want to understand.

I've always thought I'd like to come back as a cat. To virtually eat, sleep and play if and when I felt like it seemed a life worth living. Then all of a sudden, literally mid-typing my response to this here, it hit me, that not all cats live a good life. I think I'd been completely blinded by how we treat our own cats, and how my friends have treated theirs, that I didn't think of all those others out there. Suddenly, a cat isn't looking so good. What happens if I'm owned by someone who mistreats me?
Now I'm thinking of a horse. Maybe a beautiful Haflinger Horse. The idea of just galloping free, with the wind in my maine sounds soothing. To run through the country side and to be surronded by nature, the earth and sky. To run along the beach where the sand and sea collide. Admittedly, the can also get mistreated but are more costly so I'd imagine it was a little less likely than that of a cat.

I would love to be reborn as a cat, independant and aloof yet cute and affectionate. To be able to sleep when and where I like, be very picky with my food, chose where or where not to give my affection. Yes, i think i would like to be a cat

I have thought about a cat too... but I imagine as spoiled as my cat is, she must get rather bored.

Gosh..that's hard..hmm.
Maybe a manatee..or a sparrow. Something that can swim (unlike me) or can fly..they've always been freedoms I've admired. ^_^
Great discussion!

Or maybe an Ospry... I've always admired their wingspan and agility at diving to catch a fish. I love watching them soar overhead.

I always wanted to come back as a house cat also. They are independant, sleep alot are fed well. What more could you want/ As long as my owner didn't "fix" me and let me roam from time to time.

that wasn't really the question.
Elephants are social animals. So are monkeys.
