what would you do if you were wrongly accused?

So, imagine that situation. If you were shopping at Super Walmart with your baby daughter; you were pushing the shopping cart along the aisle, and picking the diapers, and snacks and miscellaneous items. You weren't even walk out of the store, or anywhere close to the exit door yet. A big man come to you, and told you that he thinks you were shoplifting. Then he with other walmart staffs escorted you to the room, and they accused you of shoplifting. Even though you explain that you didn't do anything wrong, and you haven't done shopping, and you gonna pay for every items in the cart.
10 minutes later, the police came over, and doesn't even hear your explanation, and with a disgusting tone "why don't you get a real job?" Then take you to the police station. What would you do, and they couldn't present any real evidence or proof that you were stealing. All they said that they monitor everything from the video camera, and they think you gonna shoplift, that is all. Any suggestion?

oh my... this is very unfortunate. they can not just pick any person and accuse them of something. if you were wrongly accused, then by all means, defend yourself. do not allow yourself to be trapped and sank into what they want. you could mention that you won't go with them until they produce evidence. you could call attention from other shoppers. usually, they would stop because you would make a scene. just stand on your ground if you are not doing anything wrong.

That is right! but now, the police is also involved, and he didn't ask many questions. On his impression, he already judged you as a criminal, he wants to take you in.

At the point I would demand to see my lawyer and I would fight everything. And I would be pretty confident because they can't just arrest you without having evidence that just looks both the store and the cops look bad. And if they have no real evidence what are they gonna use to rightfully accuse you? No matter what it will go on trial and once walmart had no hard evidence it would be really easy to win the case. It would be unfortunate but not unfightable.

All they have just a cartful of items which they didn't pay for yet, because they hadn't finished the shopping. They didn't even pass the security alarm at the door, and they hadn't even intend to leave the store with items that they unintentional to pay for yet. How could walmart accuse them of shoplifting. They said they saw it on the camera, and they think that they gonna steal something. What if their assumptions are wrong.

I think the same. A lawyer must be brought them to justice.

Hi. clorissa123. I would tell them that they can't just accuse me of anything. They will need to take a good look at my items and my register receipt. They also would have to go directly to the register that I have purchased all of my items at. They would have to show proof that it was my hands that were stealing items off of the shelves and walking out of the store with these items. If they have no proof of seeing me stealing without paying for my items, then I will be upset with them. They will need to show me directly on the video camera, that I am shoplifting. I know that I would be upset because they have accused me of doing something that I know that I have not done.

If they think I am shoplifting, they need to prove it. Show the evidence, even the camera that record me red handed and what items have I take. If they can't prove that, I'll make sure I'll sue them in court for lots of money, both Super Wallmart and the cops. I don't care how long it takes but I want them to learn, not to mess up just because we're a nobody.

That is right. They have absolutely no evidence of it. It shouold be a wrongly accusation. The cop and walmart should be condemned for it.

I really dont like being wrongly accused. I will try my level best to prove that I am not at fault rather than a leave it mentality. I think If there is a will, there is a way so the truth will be out anyhow.

You should defend yourself like the other members mentioned above. You shouldn't be accused this way. You have your own right.
