Do you ask God to give more?

Sorry i dont talk to god at all.. i dont pray at all. and if i need something i try to get it myself the best way i know how! Do you ask god for things ? How do you know he's listening ?

Hi shantha_45, This is a good discussion. :) I am religious and do believe in God. But unlike people in my community and my family (and extended family) I do not believe in a ritualistic God. I think about my creator as a friend and a guide. I do not believe in shapes and names. I do give my thanks for the blessings I received. I do not ask/beg for anything otherwise. I do remember to thank Him at the end of each day. :)

Yes, it is a fact that god knows what to give and when to give, but we keep praying. I pray daily. Reading Bible is the first thing I do as soon as I get up. I pray to god to make the day a good one. I also pray before going to bed. At that time, I thank god for all the blessings he showered me on that day. Prayer gives me a lot of confidence and power. My parents pray a lot. At home we pray for half an hour every night.

I pray to god everyday. I feel asking god for something is like begging alms. He knows best when i should be given and also what should be given. Then where is the question for asking more? I do thank him for what he has given. I also say my problems and talk to him as if I am talking to a friend. This lightens my heart and it is easier to solve any problem. I also have the belief that i will be blessed by god which can help me to look at everything in the right perspective.

Yes I pray everyday. Prayer is our way to communicate to God. God hears my prayers believe because I am very lucky in life. I mean I have good health, good family, and good life. What more can I ask for. Sometimes, I talk to Him in a casual way and I ask for something I really want. I know that He will give what my heart desires because I'm His child and He wants the best for me. If I didn't have it, I always think that it's not yet the right time, or it is not the best for me. I believe in God's decisions and I let Him lead my life. I always pray before I start my day to thank Him for a new day to live and to ask for guidance and strength in my day's work. Also, I pray at night to thank Him for the wonderful day He provided me and for the people that He shared with me. I don't ask God to give me more because what I have right now makes me feel very lucky and contented!

i pray to everyday and i don't forget him for a moment . and if i ask him every day what i want , if he did'nt give so quickly wwhat i want , i understand that i've to be patient ,till it's the appropriate time

I try to pray every day; sometimes in my own words, but more often than not as a Rosary. The only things I ask more of when I pray are faith, hope, charity (because I can be a sarcastic little pinhead toward other people at times, even when they don't deserve it), and wisdom to know what to fight for and what to let go of. As far as money or other material things go, if God blesses me with those, so much the better. In any case, I always pray that His will is done.

Yes I do pray to god everyday both in the morning and in the evening. No I never ask anything in particular to god, I am satisfied with what I have and thank him daily, as you say he knows when to bestow what on whom and when.

i am happy of life what i am today. god already give me a lot of things in my life. and god bless us everyday. and i don't ask god for more.
