We are currently experiencing danny, the topical storm.. he brought a lot of wind and rain with him.. and his friend Bill JUST left too.. why do these unwelcome visitors keep popping up ?
Have you ever been in a severe storm ? i've been through a few.. both juans in 2004.. I wouldnt say bill OR danny are very threatening though..
Where you one of the ones in the LONG lines at the grocery store purchasing mass ammounts of bottled water ? when you could just as easy bottle your own water?

guess he/she didn't make it up this far, and i just looked at the stormpulse site adn apparently, danny has been downgraded.. he's no longer danny anymore. its just a lot of rain and wind.. haha weird.. i think the c was Claudette.. and the a was anna, but those two didn't make it that far up the coast..

I'm in South Western Ontario, and we don't get much for major storms around here. It helps that I'm in a fairly large city too.
I think I'd survive well enough during one of those big storms though. I already have the mindset to stock up on food and water year round. :)

Yup... I'm not too close to Vaughn. That's just north of Toronto, and I'm about 1 1/2 to 2 hours west of there on the 401.

No I have never been in a hurricane or tropical storm. I would like to experience one at some point in my life though. But that prolly wont happen unless I move on the coast. As a storm lover I think a hurricane would be awsome. Kinda like storm chasers. I wonder if people chase hurricanes like they do a tornado.

Well haven't been through any tropical storms or hurricanes, but the last major storm was a t-storm + windstorm that knocked out power, traffic lights, even made driving hazardous at times for quite awhile. It was an interesting week.

I've been in the aftermath of Ike, which is incredible since I live in Ohio! He sent 90 MPH winds up here that uprooted trees and had my power out for 4 days! Luckily, I was prepared with weeks' worth of food and water although I lost everything in my freezer. I have a storm room downstairs in the basement--I use the sauna for that since I don't like saunas.
Funny, that morning I saw my Weatherbug warning of strong winds and thought well, big deal. Then it came and it was just incredibly destructive. I was driving home in the worst of it and narrowly dodged a falling power line.

I heard about Danny on the news the other day, and we did get rain. A lot of rain last night too! I don't remember what the gauge said though! We live in the middle of the state so we just get the rain and winds, but not as bad as what the coast gets. As for bottled waters, while we do buy bottled waters, we realize that it's much easier to bottle our own, plus it is more environmental to do it on our own... Though at the same time it is faster to buy the bottled water!
