Hi!
Tell me, do you drink a lot of coffee or tea during the day? Or just before bedtime? If so, stop doing that. Coffee wakes up your brain cells. If this is not the case, try doing some deep breathing exercises. You can also try drinking a glass of warm milk with honey. :)

That's what I am experiencing right now; that's why I am writing tonight. I am trying to use the natural substances such as melatonin, valerian, and tryptophan. Sometimes, I drink the melatonin tea and eat some chicken or have just a tablespoon of cottage cheese. Other times I take my mangosteen liquid, eat a bite of potatoes, and within 30 minutes I go to sleep. However, I don't stay asleep very long before I'm wide awake. Recently, I read an article in the Southwest Airlines Spirit where a man bought all of the devices that are supposed to help put one to sleep; he said that he was unemployed and decided to experiment with as many ideas to help him go to sleep as he could find. He came up with an intersting idea of using a "blue light" in his eyes; he said that the idea was silly but he tried it anyway. So, when we came home from our trip I realized our stereo had this continuous blue light flashing with movement next to my bed. Guest what? It does help to put me to sleep - if I can get relaxed with my food concoctions first. Try some of these ideas and see if they don't help!

-Only go to bed when you are tired
-If you can't fall asleep, don't just lie in bed trying, get out of bed and walk around
-Your bed is for sleep. It is not for reading, eating, watching tv. Don't get in bed unless you are going to sleep.
-Try to set a bed time, go to sleep at about the same time every night.
-If when you try to go to sleep, you are thinking/worrying about things, perhaps
things you need to do the next day, get out of bed and make a list of all those things. Write about all your worries, or any other thoughts you got buzzing around. I find this helps me clear my head
-Try yoga and/or meditation right before bed. Both promote relaxation and help clear your head. Yoga helps to tire out the body.
-Reading before bed. It makes me sleepy.
-You can try doing anything you find boring before bed.
-Cat naps during the day seem to help for some reason. But only cat naps, about 30 minutes long. Any longer and it will probably have the opposite effect because it will throw your circadian rhythm out of whack.
-Gradually start to change your sleeping habits. If you normally can't get to bed til 3am, try to get to bed by 2am. Once you've made a habit of that, try to get to bed one hour earlier and so on.

Oh.. thats very sad thing to hear from you.
There must be a solid cause behind this disorder.so, removal of the cause would give you the best result.
you should be able to find out the real cause and you must try to remove yourself.
I think its stress which is the cause behind your problem.. well, the best natural remedy for stress management is Yoga.
so, I think, the best way would be finding some time for yourself to relax and yoga could certainly of great help.
And do not take any psychotropic medication without any regular psychiatric consultation.Your problem may get aggravated if you are not treated properly and you may get psychotic features having bad prognosis. So never do it.
Wish to hear good news from you!
Have a nice time!

If you eat or drink any type of caffeine during the day maybe you should stop this because this might be keeping you at night and try drinking something like water or maybe some flavored water with not to much sugar in it and that will also help you out. If this doesn't help you out i suggest doing some over the counter sleeping medicine. I also have a very hard time sleeping at night and i don't eat or drink anything with caffeine in it at all and i still can't sleep at night so i take all my allergy medicine twice a day in the morning and at night and so far that has been helping me sleep. If you can't find anything over the counter that helps you out go to your primary doctor and let them know and they will prescribe something to you.

in my opinion you should do more sport in the daily life and a rubdown before sleep on your foot can help you.there will be a better sleep if you can persist in.
