Now a days there are so many different uses for a cell phone. There is the obvious one, making calls, but then there is also text messaging, GPS, Games, Aps, music, movies, etc. As for me I think its pretty balanced out between texting and phone calls. SO what you about all of you mylotters, what do you use your cell phone for??

Well, I've now had a cell phone for 12 years. I got my first one for my birthday when I turned 17-years-old. My mother thought that it would be a good thing for me to have a phone in case there was ever an emergency that happened while I was driving. I am pretty much a telephone purist, I use my phone for telephone calls. Occasionally I will also use it for writing a text or two, but I much prefer using it for the original intention of a phone. I think a lot of that does come from the fact that I've used a cell phone since all they did was let you make and receive phone calls.

That so reminds me of when cell phones were first 'big' and everyone started getting one! I was like 12 and no one except occassional parents had them. And then suddenly they were everywhere and texting came out and eveything changed. I sometimes text, but I use my phone for the same reason you do mostly. Its just a practical thing to have. thanks for responding :)

Hello, I use my phone mainly for phone calls. It can do other things though. It can take pictures and video. I also use it for music.I have 4 gb for music and video but I mainly use it for calls. I don't have a land line phone, my cell phone is all I have to keep in touch with family and friends with calls and text messages.

Yeah, alot of people are doing that now a days! They aren't using a landline and just leaning completely on their cell phones. Infact, I wonder whether or not I'll end up doing the same. I eventually want a house phone (when I move out on my own) but then I end up thinking.. what's the point? I already have a cell! Anyways, thanks for responding :)

I primarily use my cellphone to keep in brief touch with whoever I need to and also to find out information. I found I actually use my cellphone more for its mobile internet purpose than to actually talk on the telephone.

I use my cell phone when I go out to call home or in case of an emergencies. I call family and friends only on it. I do not have text messaging , gps or any of the other things that can be put on a cell phone.

Thats cool, not many people can say they do the same. See, thats what a cellphone should be for, not for all of the ridiculous things they do now. Thank you for responding! :)

Recently, my phone's primary function is just as an alarm clock. This is because I basically can do everything on the internet with my laptop. I dont go out that much so i am just always at home in front of my laptop. I can basically do all the chatting, SMS and I can even voice chat with my friends and they are all free. I am glad all of my friends are also connected to the internet so I dont lose contact with them. My celfone being an alarm clock right now might continue as far as I can see it.

phone calls and an alarm clock - even with all the apps, that's what I use it for - oh, and a portable camera/display - love that feature!

I mainly use my cell phone for making/receiving calls. I sometimes play the demo games that came with it, but that's about it as I can't do anything else with it. It's pretty limited with the plan I have, but it's just as well as it is a phone, after all! Happy mylotting!

I primarily use mine for talking, and a little texting. I do more talking than texting though. My daughter just got a texting phone that my grandson had so now her and I can text back anf forth as we live a long ways away from each other. I also have a friend that likes to text message,so I text her as well. The cell phone is the only phone I use as I have no landline. I wnted my phone to be a good quality phhone so I bought the one that I have now. It is an LG enVTouch with a touch screen and a qwerty keyboard. It has lots of other feaures as well, and I might not necessarily use them all but they are there if I should ever decide to. One reason I bought it is for the internet as when I am not home, I can access mylot and not miss posting everyday. Have a good day, and happy mylotting.

I use my cell phone for many uses. The main use is to make and receive calls and then text messages. This is what cell phones are primarily made for. But the other functions which I like is the option of camera, music player and games. They help a lot to pass time when alone.

I use my cellphone mostly for sending short messages. Then comes making calls. But I really want to own a 3G cellphone, especially Nokia 5800XM.It's wonderful, and not too expensive as well. What's more,it has a strong English dictionary. However,my family is suffering from a financial crisis, making my head ache. Its functions are so attractive including games, music, films and so on.So cool. But I don't know when I will be able to buy one independently.I mean,I don't want to rely on my parents any more.%_
