hi fellow mylotters why is it so hard to just read the mylot'
rules then you would know that it is breaking mylot rules
to make a discussion asking mylotters for money. do you
agree that we all should read the blasted rules? Sure a lot'of
us need money but we do not beg for it on mylot

hi fwidman changed your avatar looks good oh yes there are rules but you would not think so by the numberof people who actually felt sorr y for the person begging for money to go to college. i guess one day the
mylot admins got tired of stAring at their navels and decided hey we need to make some rules.

What again?
Someone is begging again on here?
Do they really think we will fall for it?
If they can afford tobe here in the first place they have no need to beg!

Some members are sneaky and don't actually come right out with asking for money but they go on and on about how desperate they are and you just know it's a big hint to give them money. They get away with it too. What really bugs me is that they talk about all the stuff they have....they sure don't go without anything and when folk give them money (they beg off line as well) they never tell how they repay it when they get on their feet again. I'm so sick of the ...oh poor me and my family who are doing things so tough...but because I'm such a wonderful and good and thoughtful person I will have to take everyone on holiday in our new ATV and camper because we have had such a hard year...I made that up but you get the idea.

right mstickle like giving up a dozen state of are c ellphones an ddvds and all sortsof electronic gadjets and such. most of us work'to pay our way and have little left for anything after we take out
funds to care for our own families,so why should mylotters have to'give to beggars.

yes, it really is something, seeing people beg for money. they should sell their computers and cancel their internet subscription. That will make them money! hahahaha... what some people would go through for a little amount. yes, i think people should start reading the rules.

oh my g. mstickle you are right he could pay all the way'through college on handouts from us poor mylotters, thats not kosher'in my way of thinking. there are a zillion ways of getting help now
for college students and all they have to do is ask the student dean they do not have to beg of mylotters.

actually i did come across such a discussion. and if i am not mistaken it was about $7?. i just thought to myself...this guy has a PC, internet and has just crossed his teens..i wonder who will fall for it? and i proceeded with my work. i think it is just a prank (probably inspired by some scam site). agreed knowing rules is necessary. you either read it or will be taught by making similar mistakes.

Yes that's right. Right now I am in the worse shape I have ever been in and I never would have imagined this was going to one day ever happen to me but to flat out ask for money??? That is just NOT OK Rules or No Rules. I have seen where people have asked for money. I have a button that reads Del and I use it.

I think it's common sense to read the rules before you start on any site, including MyLot. As for asking for money online specifically MyLot, it isn't the first time it's happened. I make it a rule that unless I personally know the person and their situation, I don't loan money or donate. After all, just b/c someone says their having a hard time and needs money, doesn't mean it's true. My understanding is that you can get banned from MyLot if they find out your posting discussions to get money from ppl.

hitwoey yes I agree as this really is begging. also most'colleges
that I know of have financial aid offices which help students
'in need of money for classes and books. I suggested this
student go to his financial aid office and ask for their
help rather than ask each of us to put a dollar in his
paypal account. I know he probably was genuine but still he
broke the rules and I was not going to dig unto my small fund for anyone let alone a student who could get help. vem]evilgrin[/em]

all right prashanthalva I am making this clear just for you,You did not come across this discussion because mylot deleted it, okay, and I am making a big issue of it myfriend, I use that word lightly as you are not my friend, because if the young man had read the rules he would have known that mylot does not allow mylotters to ask for money,or to beg if you prefer, fromfellow mylotters so if he made a discussion asking each responder to donate one dollar so he cou ld go to college he broke the mylot rule about donating money and he would get his discussion deleted. Am I making you clear? Most people whom I have talked to here knew a little about this. read the damned rules then you and anyone else will not have to whine that your discussions are being deleted.if you break rules you will get your discu ssions deleted. if you disliked my discussion you did not have to bother both of us. you could simply have bypassed it. hope I haVE MADE THIS VERY CLEAR.

My friend, I am not being critical, but I feel I must point out that CAPITALS are usually only used for the first word of a sentence or for proper names and place names.

Hi Hatley,
Am not sure why the rules have to be read that much mainly as you always get a warning if you have spelt a word wrong in a discussion and as long as you just do as we all do eg discussions and responses perhaps even tasks then really what else is there really to know. Only if you are a newbie then if makes sense to know how and when we are paid and a few other things like that...LoLo

little owl if you didnt know that it was against mylot rules to assk for money in a discussion and you did make a discussion asking for donations say for some fund you would break a rule and not know it until you saw it was deleted. no you should read the rules.the rules are all there for a reason and there are more rules than just abouot making posts. read them. I have never got a warning if I spelled a word wrong. mylot doesnt do that. maybe some mylotter did but not mylot admins.no read the rules once and remember them thats All I am saying so you know what not to make discussions about for if you get deleted we all get deleted who responded to you

hi neildc oh I know you do as you have been here awhile but a lot of the new ones think they dont need to bother reading them then complain when their discussions are deleted. why not read the instructions. i bet if they were putting a bicycle together they'

It's maybe because they thought it would be fine not to read it, as posting anything here can be done by just typing anything they have in mind, like we all do here. But reading the rules and understanding what it says will not just help them earn but will help them a lot more.

If you're referring to the discussion I think you, then all I can say is you have no sense of humour, no sense of irony, and take yourself a lot too seriously. It's a joke, for crissake.

Hi Grandpa,
I guess she is not referring to the discussion you talking about. If you note that, her discussion was started 2 hours before the discussion you are referring.
Have a great day.

Yeah it is pretty sad when you see people begging for money, expecially over the internet. Spending money for internet so you can beg for more money on the internet.
I guess they should make a feature that you have to go through the rules at least once before allowed to move forward in the registration form.

hi yes I think its uncalled for we are not a bank and a lot'of
us are just as poor as the college kid. we do not go around'asking
for handouts either. we solve our problems instead.

It is really important to read the rules so that we won't be penalized. Some of us also have financial problems but then begging is not the solution to the problem. We have to work hard to earn a living. There are plenty of online and offline jobs so we just have to be industrious enough in order to earn money. Begging online is definitely a NO.

hi p inklady I was just thinking the same thing read the rules
'so you do not get your discussion deleted. begging will really
get a discussion deleted super fast. He could have gone to his
college's financial aid office and gotten help.

Hi Hatley, I hope you don't mind my honesty here but I think you're being a bit harsh about this because you really don't know what the situation is with this person. I know it's not ok to do it on mylot but sometimes people get really desperate and will go to great lengths to get help. I did last year because I had to. Not because I wanted to but because I HAD to. I had to put out jars asking for donations because my mom was in the hospital and we didn't think she'd make it but she did and gosh, the gas to go see her and be there for her to be sure that the low down dirty rotten a$$es for doctors and nurses treated her right. Some of my friends on here know exactly what I'm talking about because we've exchanged emails so much and I received help in all different directions. If it weren't for the help that I received for my parents as well as for myself, we wouldn't have had anything to eat or gas to see my mom. Sometimes desperate times calls for desperate measures. I don't think you meant it to be harsh but well.... wanted to point that out is all.

Catsanddogs well I will tell it again, I did know as the p erson said he was a young student who needed money for tuition and I told him all he had to do was go to the student aid society at his college and ask for help with his tuition, because mylot admins will not let any myulotter ask for money from othe mylotters, that is in the rules, and I dont think I was harsh at all because I went to college with help of the studen aid society and grants and I did not have to bet from other people. its more about not reading the ru les though. that was the scope of my disscussion. as for harsh you dont know my own situation, I do not have any extra money to give to anyone either, I am living on 125 a month that s what is left over after social security annd ssi pay for my room a nd board.

guess iam guilty of not reading all the rules. but i would know NOT to ask for money. thats got to be a rule all over the internet, but some people are still dumb enough to try it. why would they not think we need the money or else we would not be typing our butts off also? not that thats why im here but it is a part of the perks of mylot. so, what makes them think we are rich enough to just send to anyone that asks? nother thing, why did mylot not delete it right away? my little poem was deleted within a few hours. thats why i said i guess i didnt read all the rules because i still dont know what i did wrong. it was a very nice little thing.

hi bunnybon7 his discussion was only on for a couple of days'and then was deleted. also there is a rather dumb rule about poems'seems unless you can enbed the poem and make a discussion around it they will delete them. I think that rule is dumb but it is there.

Hey there Hatley
Hmm I must admit that I am guilty as charged that I can say that I haven't read the rules but I do know roughly the do's and don'ts and asking for money is something I would even dream of doing here on mylot, against the rules of mylot or not!

I haven't seen someone begging yet because I'm new here but it's soliciting and they should be banned. We all need money obviously but to be so bold and callous to post here speaks of character.
You're right, people should read the rules first.

hi rg0205 The reason people here cannot find the discussion is that it was deleted a while after he broke the rule by asking each responder to put one dollar inhis paypal account so he could pay his college tuition and I told him he was breaking a mylot rule and advised him to seek aid at the finacial aid office at his college.
