personally I like win xp. It supports lots of freeware software and most of the application are available for it. If you do not intend to use your computer for any other use other than surfing internet then perhaps you would like linux flavors. It is made for network and supports faster speed and security. I do not have experience of Leopard and there have no comments on it.

For me windows xp is much better if you're using a genuine os compared to the pirated version you can never update your operating system. But then again it depends on the person that is using if he/she prefers the linux, ubantu or windows.

Man , ubuntu is best in my view.. I have been using both xp and linux for two years, i have tried many linux distros , but ubuntu is the best linux distro, and it has many features its more like window but virus free, the graphics properties are so high , and beats vista in graphics...

If you're computer savvy, Linux is the way to go. I recommend Ubuntu because it's the friendliest to users. However, if you run into a problem and you don't know how to write or understand scripts, forget Linux altogether. I haven't messed with Mac OS for a long time. It is the easiest to use. Here's my problem with Mac OS. As you become more experienced, the Mac's take you by the hand and guide you becomes annoying. I hate Microsoft! Problem is, Bill Gates and his posse have made us so dependent on Microsoft, that it sort of becomes the only game in town. I have Ubuntu for cruising the net and Microsoft Windows for everything else.

I have been using Ubuntu for a year and a half and I'll never go back to Windows unless I have to - e.g. if I need it for work. It took a few hours to learn how to use it, but now I don't have to worry about security, spend time getting rid of viruses, spyware etc. And it is faster than Windows.

I think this thing back to your need
the ubuntu is "virus free"
some people familiar with windows clan
if you need the OS to operate programming such microsoft visual studio, of course you need microsoft windows
so, it depends on your needs :)
