Just now I was having some spasms again, difficulty in breathing in,and I wonder whether they anxiety attacks or not? I need to lead a slower pace of life, I think. So what I did just now to get my chest off the spasm, I sang... I took out my guitar and strummed some worship songs... Believe it or not, I am feeling better now, definitely better than an hour ago. Now I am wondering whether it is due to too much blogging or not? Tell me, how do you all de-stress yourself?

Okay.. You may laugh.. but I promise you this works... :)
1. Get rid of as many of the people and issues you can in your life that cause you stress....Sometimes, this may mean making changes that you might not necessarily want.
2. Blogging.. unless you are losing sleep or getting yourself involved in something emotionally deep, should not be causing you anxiety!
3. Make sure that you are getting enough comfortable, uninterrupted rest...
4. Get fresh air often, and make sure that if you're usually stationary that you are getting some movement or stretching about once an hour.
5. Spend a day outside.. Enjoy the world
6. Spend some time with the elderly, home bound, or a child.
7. Read a good book on your porch at sunset
8. Blow bubbles
9. Play with an animal
10. Go to a fountain or watersource.. Close your eyes and simply enjoy the mist splashing you and the sounds around you.
11. Go do something that you normally would not do. Lie on your back and count the stars.. Watch the sunrise or sunset.. Soak in the tub or take a long shower.
12. Aromatherapy is good... Some relaxing scents are lavender, rose petal, sandalwood, cedar, and patchouli. Citrus scents are also good.
13. Watch a good hearted family movie or comedy
Good luck :)

Hope you are feeling better now. Too much blogging? I dont really know what that means. If you mean talking about yourself online in your website log than it should be a form of expressing yourself and thus be a method od destressing. How do i destress myself? I listen to music, hangout with friends and play online games. I suggest you chat to friends online and maybe talk about your problems and stuff. I am no professional but these are the things I do.
Lastly, think positive!

thanks for your advice, in fact I am doing some chatting online now. Yes, blogging is like doing your own website and writing on what you experience daily. Listening to music is one way and singing to it is another. Takes our mind off stress, i suppose. Another way I lack doing is exercise. I must remember to go for more evening walks and jogging.

hi renaclaire when I am really uptight I do oneof two things. I find that chocolate bar,the dark semi sweet one and nibble chocolate.Or I get myearphones on and tune into myfavorite classical music by Mozart and sometimes when I am really stressed I combine the two and eat chocolate and listen to my favorite classical music. way to go for me.

Oh Reana,
Are you alright now? No wonder you were told to reduce your badminton! To me blogging IS destressing myself. If I am unable to go online to blog for more than a couple of days, I find it discomforting. Blogging is where I find my calm and shares whatever is bothering me. It is also a place to share my happiness. At the end of the day, I destress by sleeping. Sleeping is very important. I do hope your results will come back clear Reana.

Now when u mentioned sleeping, yes, i think i lack sleep.. i must sleep more, my sister told me one of the reasons is not sleeping well. If not enough sleep, eating also will not be good too.. blogging is indeed part of my life, but spending too much on time is not good for me.

To me, I only blog like a couple of hours a day. So it's still tolerable. I just needed to go online, do some blogging, do some chatting, reply emails, myLot and I'm out. If I dont get enough sleep, I am grouchy. But, since being a mother, I am always lacking sleep. Guess I am able to tolerate it more these days.

hey my dear claire.. be aware and take good care of yourself.. but I sure know you have good ways to de-stress yourself, with all the good food, good people and good children that you are having..
Anyway, for me to de-stress, is basically simple.. I need to have chocolates! every time I feel the attacks coming, I will sure gobble down a bar of chocolates just to have the sweet suger to cheer myself up.. and then, I will just go find something to cook..
some friends say, isn't that more stressful since I need to think and work while I cook, but this is what I enjoy the most.. and then I will go to my blog, and blast the whole lots of this and feel better after that..
well, I believe this kind of situation happens some time in life, and just of this kind of sign, makes us think we got to slow down our pace, and smells the flowers along the path..
have a nice day..

Where is this coffeeshop that u can spend a few hours, Alexa? normally coffeeshops over here in my area is noisy and boisterous so i cannot sit longer than i want to be. I guess each of us have our own different way of destressing ourselves, right?

If you have these spasms, it's wise to have a medical check. Your body is giving signals that something is not right. One way to destress is to turn to your religion for calmess. I do that. Sometimes I'd just watch TV or surf the net and look for chat friends.
Good that you're feeling better now :)

I did go for my medical check up, my blood check up, the report came back yesterday. It certified me alright in all but i just need to control my glucose that is 5.5 at the borderline. Other than that, the others are within the range. I seldom watch tv except for my favorite chinese shows and badminton. :) Anyway, thanks for coming by, Kev..

Hello Reanaclaire , so many times my friends also
have put this question to me and I have
always suggested this. Laugh wholeheartedly.
Take the smallest chance to laugh very loudly.
Certainly after some time you will feel relaxed
and less tense. It is a tested method by me.I do this
only. I do not miss one single chance to laugh ,laugh.

Hi, there may not be someone around all the time.
So I make it a point to laugh at even the silliest of jokes.
I have expereinced my self that loud laughing makes
me feel relaxed.

DE-Stress , wow, what a very complicated word .. For me , being a hospital employee working on 12-jour and sometimes 16-hour shifts really is very stressful , but sometimes im too busy to think that i am so stressed. What I usually do to unwind is to read books that would deliver myself to a good sleep , sometimes a read books that make my self being carried away , blogging and being online id fun and relaxing enough , music of my type can soothe away trobled mind and baking ang cooking helps in time when i dont want to think of the things that stresses me..

i think you should do meditation :) that's a really good way of removing all the stress in you. i do meditation daily and i feel great doing so. and you should try to focus your mind you should not get involved in many arguments and fights this is how you can be destressed at least i use this method which doesn't ever keeps me in stress and i feel fresh and relaxed all the time. thank you.

Sorry to hear about the spasms. I have them too when Im stressed. I also develop a red rash sometimes.
When I need to destress, I go for walks by the seaside or I do something that relaxes my mind like listen to soothing music and sometimes I do yoga or work out.
I play the guitar, too, and that sometimes helps as well. Blogging helps when I want to vent but for absolute relaxation i steer clear of the computer because I tend to just work on my projects when I'm on.
What works for me would be walks and music.

Last night I played my guitar singing some worship songs, yes, it helps in a way to digress ourselves. Blogging helps a bit, ,to put our mind off some problems but blogging too much also add stress to me... lol..
