You lay down for short nap and you are dreaming in 30 minutes!
That happened to me today - weird one too, this train drove down into a stream off the tracks, then did a jog to where the tracks hung down on the other side and started up again...
Well the tracks down were at a fairly steep angle, but the ones going up were nearly straight up and down, then, after about the 3rd of 4 car, the others fell off, but there was a line to them and the train was pulling them up, even tho they weren't attached any more...
I think I'm glad the roomie woke me up!
Now, I had been looking on my iphone at a creek here in town, and down to where it ran into the river. And this creek has a pretty good sized valley so I sort of guess that might've been part of the inspiration for the dream.
Don't know why a train...

I know what you mean about being over tired and falling in a deep sleep almost straight away..I have never dreamt of a train as such but I often dream that I am driving in my car only to discover the brakes no longer work! It’s an a very distressing dream and someone once told me that it may have something to do with the feeling of my life being out of my control, makes sense I guess. As far as your dream goes, your guess is as good as mine!

I remember when I was about four I dreamed I was in our car and it started itself and took me to my grandmother's house. It was scary that I could not stop it. The dream had very vivid details of certain landmarks, plus her sofa cushions were with me. I do not know if I felt out of control then, or not. That is the general explanation for a car driving itself.

GardenGerty, that would have been frightening for a four year old! It is a feeling I don't like; being in a fast moving vehicle that won't stop and in my case not knowing where I am going. It does make sense that it would represent the anxiety over having no control where one's life is heading.

I have had dreams like that. They can be very weird sometimes. I've had some dreams where I was actually really really glad to wake up in my own bed, with the radio on in the background, so even before i was totally awake, I knew where I was.
And you have an iPhone? you lucky duck!!! I want an iPhone!!!

When I was a kid I used to frequently dream about trains. It always seemed to be an old locomotive with the big belching smokestack on top of the front. The train was always going around a bend on a high mountain. I was always on the tracks and when the train came by I fell off and woke up.

It sounds like a scene from Polar Express, sort of. I do not know why a train and the stream. Stream of consciousness maybe.

That is an odd dream indeed, Elic. I can see the creek but the way the train just drove off the tracks, under the water, and back up onto the tracks on the other side is creepy.
I don't lay down for naps cause they always end up lasting at least 4hrs. If I'm sitting up on the computer or in my car parked in front of a customer's house, I can catnap for a few min. and then wake right back up. Done this many times when I'm tired.

Maybe, if roomie hadn't awakened you, you might have ended up at Hogwarts?

no, no snow, running water - but yeah... kind of like that taking off across the ice with no rails - except it was still attached in the water only after starting to climb the straight up tracks did it lose the back end - and then it was pulling it up by the line

Yea, it just happened to me right before I went to bed, I was sitting on the couch, waiting for my hubby then I fell asleep, I started dreaming eating spaghetti as soon as my hubby woke me up... it was really quick, I think I took couple minutes to fall asleep, then I dreamed real quick.

I have always had the weirdest dreams. I am not sure if it is because I'm really tired or what, but lately it seems like things I hear about in the news or read online, end up happening to me in my dreams when I hit the pillow at night. It is really strange! There were two bad accidents one week where people were going the wrong way on the highway and the next night I dreamt that I was one of those people going the wrong way and knew it, and I was trying my hardest to get out of the way from people, etc. That is very scary!
