I was home, preparing for School. I was in Senior High. I received a phone call from my Ex, turned close friend from the US.
He said, turn on your TV and the first thing I saw was the footage of the plane slamming into the twin towers. I was flabbergasted. I dropped the remote control of the TV and watched in horror.
Even though I didnt know anyone that perished that day, there was a feeling of mourning and sadness because of the magnitude and the tragic way that they died.
When we started class, our French teacher (he was French/Canadian), all told us to have a moment of silence for those who are in Ground Zero. Some of us said prayers. Many cried, even if we didn't know who those people were. They didn't deserve what happened to them.
Today, whenever 9/11 draws near, or whenever the day comes, I still think about the people who have lost their lives in a split second all because of hatred.
May those who have perished find peace and may those who have lost loved ones find it, too.

It was between 11pm and 12midnight in my country, I was watching the evening news and getting ready to sleep when the video footage was shown in a news flash. I was like in a trance, I couldn't believe it was real, it's like watching a war or a sci-fi movie. One of the scariest video footages I've ever seen in my entire life, and what's even more scary is that it was real! So many lives lost, for what? Despite the never-ending news and drama, I still don't understand why it happened.

I had left school that year and did a Princes Trust course which was based at my local YMCA. During our lunch break we had the radio on and heard the news. I remember walking home that day and seeing Sky News on in the local Chicago Rock Cafe. When I got home I was tuned to the news to find out the latest. It was really shocking on the walk back home. I could not believe it.

I was working as a receptionist and 2 of the managers came running in asking for the radio. I gave it to them and they started turning the turner to change the channel. When they found a news channel I heard the announcer say "a second plane has crashed into the world trade centre". I was stunned for a moment and then listened as the announcer was saying what was going on. My office ended up full of people listening to the radio. When I got home, I turned on the news on the TV and saw all the footage. I felt like what I was seeing wasn't real, it still hard to believe it happened.

I was in the Army. Fort Bragg, N.C in the orderly room. Therre were soldiers in one of the offices watching on T.V. I can remember standing there thinking how I joined the military to better myself and now there was going to be a war. Fortunately I was on my way out of the Army and did not have to fight. My heart goes out to all the families of the thousands of people who lost their lives on that day.

I was at work. I had just gashed my finger open on a utility knife and was on my way to the bathroom with my finger wrapped and bleeding. I had noticed that the music had stoped an all the radios and all I could here was unintelligable talking. A guy I worked with walked by and said to me, "hey1 did you hear?we're under attack, we're being bombed with our own planes as the missles!"
Shortly after I was at the hospital, the nurse was bringing in regular updates for me while I was examined and stitched up. by that thime, the last plane had gone down in pensivania. I remember thinking, "this is going to change us forever".
I was sent home for the day because they were concerned my wrapped and stitched finger would just get in the way and I was risking popping it open if I worked with it. I got home and my wife waas outside with a look of utter shock on her face. My neighbor's were outside talking, a few were crying. I walked numbly in to my house, cnn was on. By then the towers had alreday fallen. I looked on the tv and saw the gap wher the towers had been and my stomach lurched. I almost vomited right there. That was when the full scope of things hit me, and yes, I cried.

I was in an Island, in the Indian Ocean, well having my holidays and we were really enjoying when we came back to the hotel we switch on the Television to know that there has been an attack and we were all stunned, we were worried for the people over there and one friend's mother was near the place, we were anxious about that, hopefully she was not hurt.
