Mean Rabbit that bites...want him?

Okay we were asked the other day in a post if we had seen any funny advertisements. This one was in my email yesterday. I thought it was so funny and a bit cute too. It was in freecycle.com I have a very pretty, evil rabbit to give to some brave soul. It's a medium sized rabbit. It is about 2, a neutered male. Is a loinhead cross, but only has a little mohawk. Gray and white colored. No cage, has always been indoors. It isn't scared of people at all, at first he seems really sweet then he turns on you, he will run at you and bite and bruise you. Not much fun if you ask me. My kids are tired feeding a thankless animal. He also sheds a lot, seriously. Oh, he is litter box trained-so that is wonderful. You can have it's litterbox. Now my question is, would you wan this rabbit? Do you think that you could spend time with him and get him to stop biting and being a terror? I believe that with time and affection this little guy would be a nice pet. I have had rabbits, none mean like this or that bit. I can not have any now as I have more than enough babies to take care of.

I like rabbits. I'd love to hug them but i am hesitant to do so. I'm afraid they will bite me. But do they stinks? because they don't take a bath, right?

Rabbits are so cute and cuddly. They don't stink, they clean themselves like a cat does. You can bathe them but they do it. They are usually sweet and so nice to have. If you keep them in then they need diapers so they don't go over the house, unless you litter box train them as this one is.

I used to own a rabbit, but he never bit anyone. The only time that he ever bit anyone was when he was given away by my mother and the guy that was about to adopt him tried to catch him in his cage. I guess rabbits or any animal in this matter will bite as a form of defense. And unless it was trained as a bunny to bite, I don't think that it will go around chasing people to bite them. I wouldn't adopt this rabbit though. My cat tornado would probably tear him to shreds. =)

Oh, no that would not be a good combination then. We wouldn't want the poor rabbit hurt. But you do know they give as good or better than they get. They fight like a cat. lol

This is kind of cute but it also hits really close to the truth. Many times ppl will get a pet and if it starts showing any behavioral problems, they try to ditch it on someone else. The woman states that her kids are tired of feeding a thankless animal...while kids are not animals it can be a thankless job raising them so I have to wonder how her kids are going to handle parenthood. There has to be a reason the bunny is biting and as a pet owner she should take the time to talk to a vet and find a way of correcting the problem, instead of just foisting him off on another family. I really hope he finds a home that will treat him well. ~~AT PEACE WITHIN~~ **STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS**

I do too twoey and I feel the same way. I was also put off by the family or the woman that put in he, it's and it never a name or anything resembling a spark of caring for this poor little rabbit. No name of him and it's litter box goes to. I do hope she finds a good home for him.

I use to have a male and female, they had babies a few times and I had lots of them. I gave them away to people that would care for them and had to find a home for my original two because I was having too many problems with my pregnancy and had to move back into town closer to the hospital.

he might improve with time or not, either way i'd want him. i don't think rabbits are always very good pets for children (they don't really play in a way children understand) and that might be the reason this one has become a bit of a rebel.

I tend to agree with you. Also children can be and are so cruel to animals so they learn to defend themselves the only way they know how.

some children are really good with animals but a lot are a bit thoughtless. think for most children the most appropriate pet really is a dog. for some a very large, fierce dog...

I understand jb, some children are very good with animals, but they need to be taught how to treat them and how to handle them.

No, I would not take him. too much stress for me. It would need so much time to deal with him and I do not have the time. I used to breed rabbits many years ago. New Zealand whites'. They were so cute and soft and such fun. The children loved playing with them but the dogs gave me problems as some of them would frighten the rabbits. It is a brave person who would take that little rabbit.

I am that way too and I do have 4 fur babies to worry about hurting him too. They would want to play with him and would hurt him.
