Will you see a physician right away even just a simple illness you feel?

I knew some people that are used to see their physician right away even just a simple and mild illness they felt. One reason perhaps they would easily get nervous that they could not do anymore what they would do.... I remember my parents before, they would had to apply some herbal medicines and if it would persist that's the time we would be brought to our physician... Are you going to see your doctor immediately when you feel not good in your health? What's your opinion about this...?

I am paranoid about going to a hospital or visiting a doctor, I dislike the smell of hospital and the entire look of a hospital or a doctors chamber. I try my best not to visit doctor for silly cold, flu or pains...but when things turn to a point when it becomes impossible to take, I go to doctor.

yes you're right. So am I, I don't like seeing doctors because for me once you see a doctor for whatever illness you would have it involves money. But, if it can't be avoided for my health sakes I better see...thanks for responding

Here consulting a doctor isnt that expensive but there is this business which goes like if you go to a very renoned doc, he would prescribe very expensive meddicines and also ask us to do tests from a particular lab so that he too get commission for his patients visitng there. this doesnt happen in hospital other than government ones. whatever be the case I do not like hospitals, doctors and nurses. hi hi

I don't think I'll go to the physician for the first two days. I'll just wait and see if my own immune system brings me to normality. If the illness is going serious and making me feel more bad and sick, then I'll definitely do something about it. Remember, feeling ill sometime maybe the symptom of some serious disease. For example, one of the symptoms of HIV AIDS is flu and feeling tired all the time. So we better go through some blood tests in every 2 months just to see if we are doing good. Health is wealth, right?

Yes health is wealth I agree with you. What's the use of our money if that would just for the doctors and hospitalization. I would just see a doctor if my illness is serious and if it implicates pain that i could not stand it anymore...thanks for responding..

Hello My answer would be no. A doctor's fee in my country is costly. So, those who do go to the doctor are either in major serious pain or have their life already hanging in the balance. I know someone who works in the medical field. And he advised me that it is good to be a 100% aware of what's not alright anymore with what we feel with our bodies. BUT, we do need to make sure if a trip to the doctor is necessary. This line of thinking helps because there are a lot of people who really needs medical help. And if we go to the doctor because of a simple ache that we felt, then we're taking that precious time away from those who really needs to be treated.

Definitely not. I would not see my doctor unless a natural remedy could not resolve my problem. There are thousands of natural cures in our world that nobody talks about. One of the reasons health care is so expensive is because too many Americas go to the doctor over little things. And most of our problems could be prevented in the first place if people only made better choices. Either way, I would not go to the doctor anyways unless it was absolutely necessary simply because doctors nowadays only want to hand out prescriptions and don't act like real doctors.

You're right my friend. Health maintenance are so expensive even in my country. I will treat my health problem in a sure way that my money would not be wasted once I would see a doctor. But, while my illness would not be so serious I will just find ways to handle it...thanks for responding..

I don't think so .If it's just a simple illness ,like having a cold,I'll cure it myself, not by medicines, just keeping exercise. But it's not useful for someone who is weak physically.Besides, the if you take medicine too much, your immune system won't be so strong as before which is not good to your health definitely.

I don't go to the doctors unless I have to. I keep thinking whatever is wrong will go away, also, doctors can never diagnose me, so I have lost some faith in them. I also get tired of having the same tests done all the time and they always come back normal. I use a walker and am definately not notmal!!! I get disgusted when I see the Dr. sometimes and if I have to pay for it, I feel like I've wasted my time, money, and my friends time (she always takes me to the doctor).

Its obvious that when anyone is sick even due to small illness he/she visit physician to avoid further complication.but one should not panic with simple illness because that type of problem can be tackle by immune system, but regular taking of medicine on simple illness can reduce the ability of immune system to get adapted to simple illness.

hello mobhomeir, that depends. if it is just simple, then i can have my firts aid treatment. i have a book given to us by our mother when we're still studying in college with my brother and sister. it's very helpful to us. and i'm still using it now that i already have a family. if one of us is not feeling well, i am referring it to the book. i found it so effective. so glad it is still with us. but incase it's not beyond my control anymore, that's the time we need to visit the physician so we can have the necessary treatment.

I will not see a physician right away for a simple illness as he might make me more tensed about the illness.I try to take the medicines i know first for a particular disease. Then if the sickness i still persisting then i will go to the physician.Once for common cold i went to the physician but the cold was not arrested even after a week then i took a second set of tablets given by him still no results. Then i put the normal tablets i took for cold and the cold left me.

I don't like going to the doctors at all. So I only go to the doctors when I'm seriously sick with a bad cough/fever that won't go away after a week or two. I rather use home remedies or over the counter medicine than wasting money for an expensive doctors visit and then a prescription that will be expensive too.

When I was younger I was never conscious about my health, I didn't mind those migraine, eye strain and other body pains. But when I got married and had kids, I became more careful about my health, I consult a doctor at the slightest sign of any pain, for my peace of mind. I can't afford to be sick because my kids are too young and I want to be healthy and live long for their sake. I want to celebrate life with my kids and I can't do that if I'm sickly.

I understand what you mean my friend. Of course even us here when we were still younger those illness you mean would not be a problem. So am I when I became older I became health conscious but not to the extent that I would have to see doctor immediate for just a simple and common illness...I understand the way you handle your health concern...thanks for responding...

Hello Martin, I am a mother of 3 kids, and,so far i have learn to determine serious illness from simple ones. If it is just a mild illness, like having fever,i would try to see first the reason why my kid is having fever. Check is she is having cough or cold, check her throat for signs of inflamed tonsils and what she feels, which part of her body is aching. If the pain or fever reached up to the maximum that a paracetamol can't do anything,or,if the fever keep same for 2 days...then i will rushed my kid to the nearest hospital. Hope you are always fine dear amigo

Unfortunately, I do not go to the doctor until I am very ill. I do not like to go to the doctor's office. I try everything I can to help heal myself. I have found that this does not always work and I must visit the doctor. I feel that you do not need to go for minor illness, but these illness can be more serious than you think. It is already good to check with your physician for preventive measures.

But what I mean is, if you have a chronic illness or something you can't stand the pain you feel in some part of the body..would you still avoid a doctor...? anyway, that's your thinking not mine I still respect that...thanks anyway for responding...

Hello mobhomeir. I don't usually go to a doctor unless I cannot suffer some kind of pain physically. As to small and simple illness, I take care of myself by taking some medicine and usually it helps. I know my own problem and love to deal with it if I can. Take care.

No. I didn't go to a doctor if I feel not good I just want to make it sure that illness that I have is not severe, if it is simple sickness no need to go to a doctor, one reason is money, and I don't let myself get sick, stay healthy, eat right, drink right, sleep right, don't waste time to useless thing.

i wasn't surprised when you mentioned that your parents might use herbal medicines first and then see a doctor when symptoms persist. i think all parents are like this for in my personal experience the pediatrician of my child told me that when my baby gets sick to let him take her usual prescribed medicine and observe him for 3 days and if the fever does not disappear that is the time to confine. that's already a baby with fever. so much so a grown human body made to withstand almost anything (i hope) to survive.

No, I do not go the doctor for a simple illness. If after 3 or 4 days I am still sick I will then make an appointment to see the doctor. I just take the over the counter medicine and hope it will make me feel better so I do not have to go to the doctor.

The problem with self-diagnosing and treating is that sometimes you are wrong. Something might be more serious than you thought. I made this mistake earlier this year. I had some symptoms and I thought I knew what they were. By the time I saw my doctor -- just to be on the safe side! -- it was too late. I had emergency surgery that night for a ruptured appendix. The procedure that usually takes 20 minutes, took my surgeon three hours to "clean it all out." Those were his exact words. It was a miserable experience, as I was as weak as a baby for several weeks. Bottom line: Don't assume you know what's wrong with you. A mistake could be fatal. I'm lucky to be alive, and I know it.

It depends on the type of illness you felt. One of the symptom of illness is having a severe stomach pain.Of course you must see a doctor since you are not used to that pain...what I mean is if it would just be a common colds, fever that we usually felt, I think we can cure that...thanks for responding..
