Some singers/artists are just overrated, who's on your mind?

Without any doubts, Britney Spears, Miley Cyrus and Lady Gaga would be among the top choices for sure, They are bimbo who can lip-sync and sing trashy pop songs to target most of the youngsters but the real fact is that they aren't that talented in terms of vocal skills and producing. Others that should be in the list will be Fergie, Jonas Brothers, Ashlee Simpson, Paris Hilton and Jennifer Lopez.

Yes there are tons of overrated bands and artists out there... Britney Spears...good one. Pretty much all of the pop singers nowadays are bought for their faces...their music pretty much sucks, and people buy their stuff just to see them cavort around and "look pretty". It's all overrated in that genre. I think Metallica is overrated too. Alot of their stuff sounds the same to me. Their sound really hasn't changed or progressed for years...like they've hit a wall or something...anyway. On the other hand, look at Stryper. Back in the mid/late 80's, early 90's, they were a pop, glam rock, Christian group...lots of talent, but sort of cheesy in their performance, from what I hear...I was only a kid at the time, so I don't know from experience. Nowadays, Stryper has come back together with a new sound, and really matured their music. That's what I look for in a group/artist. Someone who doesn't always sound the same, and can grow musically. Listen, and let your inspiration be born... Dive Deep!

I like Britney Spears music, but have to agree with you she is overrated. Another artist I think is way overrated is Miley Cirus. I just don't get the hype. I realize she targets young girls, but she is climbing her way up to more adult fans & I don't get it. She has a decent voice, but not great.
