I got a digital camera about 2 or 3 yrs ago for christmas, and it took me a year to figure it out, how to get the best pitcures out of it... how it worked...and last month I dropped it!! now it doesnt work, if I turn it on it only gives me a blank screen and the recording light stays on. So this means that I will have to be looking for a new camera before summer... granted the prices have come down so I can get a decent one for a decent price... only I am not sure how much I will have extra to spend on a camera!! At least my cell phone takes pictures so I have been using that for now.... this got me thinking --has anything broke for you lately that you have to replace?? Is it something that has to be replaced by a certain time, or do you have something else that you can use in place of it for now?? ....enquiring minds want to know!!

My washer is giving out on me. We don't have the extra money to buy one right now, so I am pretty much going in and working with it to drain during every load. I guess I will start using the laundromat. I haven't had to do that in years.

last year that was us too... our washer was giving out on us... and it was a major pain... luckily hubby and my father in law knew someone who sells used appliances and we got an incredible deal on a stackable washer/dryer... thank goodness!! I hope you can get a new one soon...possibly look on craigs list... or check out some used appliance stores....good luck with that!! thanks for the response and have a great day!

its a pity that your camera got spoilt but i like your attitude of getting a new one. me my computer got broken last month and i have never bothered to take it for repairs given that it is something that can be repaired.

thanks!! there isnt much I can do about it, and it was a gift a few yrs ago that I got from christmas... the thing that is the hardest is I just got a good hang of it and was able to get some good pictures, I was really bad with the digital camera when I first started using it. I hope you get your computer fixed..if it can be!! thanks for the response and have a great day!

yes camera phone is good alternative. i plan to buy a camera phone for candid shots. i don't use camera often so digital camera is not for me and it is kind of heavy. unlike camera phone is easy to put it in the pocket and bring it anywhere. but if ever i will have the need to take lots and lots of picture i will definitely save up to buy a digital camera too. i am just saving for camera phone.

I am very glad that I have the option with my phone so I dont feel like I have to rush out and get a new camera right away. I mainly use my camera for days out on our playdates, and holiday/family get togethers... so I have time to look around for a good deal on one, and for now I still use my camera phone. thanks for the response and have a great day!

Lost my cell phone: thought I would have to buy a replacement, but then I remembered I still had the one I updated with the lost one, so money saved!

My Canon digital camera recently quit working, so I desperately wanted to buy a new camera! Though I found out that a friend was trying to sell hers for $20, so I bought her used one that has a few issues..But it still works, and it was super cheap, and that's what counts! I feel lost without a camera, I really do. Me & my friends love to take cutesy "friends" pictures and I LOVE taking nature & artistic photography..So it feels like I need to have a camera 24/7 otherwise a piece of me is missing. , so when my Canon broke - I wanted to get another working one ASAP (although there was no specific deadline, obviously).

Hi bookreadermom08! My old external flash (a yashica brand that is about 13 years old) that used to be paired with my Yashica film SLR (also retired) finally gave up on me. I really like that flash because I normally use it as an off-camera flash for my canon dslr. Since I really need an extra flash for a coming wedding shoot on September 26, me and my wife decided to replace it with a Canon 580EX II. I will use this as my primary external flash while my older canon 430EX will replace the broken Yashica flash as an off-camera external flash.

Oh my gosh, to have one die on you and you really need it for a wedding shoot... that is bad!! I am glad you are able to get a new one though, that works out great for you. Mine is just for personal use, the sad thing is I finally got the hang of using it....so now I have to learn all over again!! thanks for the response and have a great day!
