I have been experiencing some difficulties with bats lately. It seems if I go outside after dark a bat will fly at my head!! I don't know why this is happening, or how to make it stop, other than not go outside after dark.
I hate bats, and I am scared I will get bit one of these times...it's very frustrating...my husband thinks it's funny! He says that they will not bite me they have no reason to...but they also have no reason to fly at my face yet they do!

so you mean there are lots of bats in your area. isn't it bat lived near caves. does it meaa your place are near some caves. anyways, i think bats are safe. not unless they are the african type of bats that feed on blood. but if not , they are just the fruit eating bats. i think there is not african type of bats in US.

well here where i live (in southern ontario canada) i have heard that it has been a very bad year for bats due to the cooler and wet weather we had over most of the summer. they had nothing to do but procreate so there are a lot more bats around. maybe you should call your local pest control and look into it?

Now that is really funny. If it's an insect bat then it's after the insects buzzing aroiund during that time. If it's a fruit bat then maybe it has found a new flight path to some ripened fruits nearby. It's harmful really but it's annoying flying near you. Maybe you smell good like fruity something LOL
Our frontyard used to have a tree with small bearing fruits that bats ate and everytime we go out a bat would swoop down. Now we cut the tree and still there are some bats which fly by and go for the nearest mango tree in the neighbor.

Maybe it has found your face attractive, or maybe, there are too many mosquitoes flying around.
Note that mosquitoes always come close to feed. It so happened that the bat was there and it swoop down to devour the mosquito. Technically speaking, the bat saved you from the mosquito.
Bats don't usually bite people. Those that bite are vampire bats, but they also choose their victim wisely. They seldom attack humans although there are some rare instances.

Huh, that is really strange. Is this all happening in one area- like outside your house or something? Cause then you could do something about. Maybe even an outdoor light would keep them away. You can also buy these things that emit a noise that is too high pitched for people to hear but that bothers bats. My grandma used to have one of those cause bats kept getting into her condo. Yikes, it would definitely be scary to get bit by one though, in case it had a disease or something.
