I will graduate in time, no matter how long it takes.

Perseverance. As of the moment, that's the only thing I have and nothing more. I'm now on my 5th year in college. It's embarrassing for me when I get to see my batchmates and classmates in highschool, asking, "Have you graduated?". Almost all of them, if not having their own families, have already finished college. Here's my current motto: I will graduate in time, no matter how long it takes. What can you say about this?

That's alright. As you have said, just a bit more perseverance and I know you'll gonna make it. I remember my college days, it also took me 5 years before I was able to graduate even though my course is just a four-year course. What's worst is that I remained a bum until now whereas it's been three years since I graduated.

Sometimes, earning a college degree doesnt give you the assurance that you could get a job immediately. I just hope I'd be hired as soon as I graduate.

LOL... it's a noble job to be a teacher. If you really don't want to teach, maybe you can be a school administrator. :D

Actually it was my all my fault that I don't have a job right now. The thing is, I don't like a job relating to the course I've finished. I'm an education graduate but I don't want to teach. That's where the conflict is. Well, I tried to use my degree before. I teach for a month but I immediately quit and I felt that the job wasn't really for me. What's even more ironic is that I am now taking up my Masters Degree on the same field. lol =)

Its good that you want to persevere. If you feel graduating means everything to you please persevere. But if this time can be better utilized in taking up another skill which can land you a job there is no harm. You need not compare yourself with your colleagues they may have aptitude for academics and you elsewhere. Why don't you realize where your potential lies and take that up as you might end up being more successful and also realize your full potential.

Don't worry about how long it takes you to graduate, it's about you and your speed, not how fast can I rush through something to be on par with the Joneses. If it makes you feel any better (I'm in the UK so we left school at 16), I left school at 16 and didn't actually enter university (US College equivalent I'm told) until I was 25! I managed to graduate this year with my BA (I'm 28 now) and the way I see it, it doesn't matter how you got there or how long it took, only that you did it and you can be proud of yourself for trying your hardest to get there. Way to go you on trying, don't give up!

I am on the same boat as you! I also started college 5 years ago and I am still there because of switching programs, working, and other unavoidable reasons. I am not embarrassed, though. I am happy with my life and, like you, I will finish no matter how long it takes.

LOL. I'm with my life, it's just that my mom always asks when over and over again. Btw, I'm still dependent on her. As much as I wanted to be on my own, she won't allow me.

My mom, and every other member of my family, ask me all the time also. For them, the fact that I am taking so long seems to be a bad thing. For me, I am having the time of my life while they work their boring careers. I want to make sure that I love what I am doing when I end up doing it.

One of the reasons I enjoy my stay in college is that I love the campus environment. The fun and pressure at the same time. Unfortunately, they had to pay much for my "stay" that's why they want to work as soon as possible.
