I have been into online work for almost three years now and I am not regularly working out. Although I always do household chores, I still think I need to regularly work out to keep my body fit and to have a healthy lifestyle. Being in front of the computer most of the time is stressful but our body needs physical activities to keep it fit and healthy. I am planning to start working out. I am thinking of jogging every afternoon. How about you? How often do you exercise and what exercise do you usually do to keep your body fit and healthy?

It's good for you to have a work that requires you to walk everyday. I seldom have a long walk, only when I go to the grocery store or department store. I do a lot of activities at home, doing household chores but I feel it's not enough to consider it a complete daily exercise.

Hi Aica,
I don't exercise regularly, only when I feel like it, or when i'm convinced I'm fat, or feel heavier more than my usual weight, etc. Whenever I want to exercise I put out my favorite video work out which goes for 65 minutes and follow it. I know I need to have more conviction to keep myself fit, but I don't think I'm that ready yet.

Well most people have that thinking that when you feel you are not fat, you don't think you have the reason to exercise which is wrong. But what can i say, I am one of those people. But only when I feel the effects of not regularly exercising that I realized how important a regular exercise is regardless of your body size.

I understand the importance of regular excercise and used to be a bit of a fitness freak but since starting my job just over a year ago, I have found it difficult to keep up. I work 8-10 hour shifts any time between 8am and 10pm. As such, I find it difficult to find a routine where I can fit excercise in.
I work in an office too so know that I am not doing my fair share. I do walk home (about 35 minutes) 3-4 times per week and find myself feeling guilty that I don't do more.
I used to do a lot of yoga as well as chilling with the TV whilst on my excercise bike but now, I find it hard to muster up the energy. I think about starting regular excercise all the time but it always seems to be 'tomorrow' that I will do it and of course, tomorrow never comes.
Jogging is a great way to get fit and stay in shape so I wish you all the luck with your endeavour. I just hope I can get motivated again also.

Wow, 35 minutes of walk is too much compared to my walking. Most of the time I just walk much when I go to the grocery store or department store. But that seldom happens. I go to the grocery store twice a month. If you walk 35 minutes for four days a week, I'd say that is something you should not be guilty of.

i exercise 3x in a week i jog and walk.everyday i just do some streching and sit-ups.i believe being healthy stays fit and look more younger.it also have many benefit first if your overweight and exercise helps to burn calories.another is it will energizes you for the whole day work.but doing it often will have also negatives effect you become exhausted.to conclude this exercise brings many positive effects on the body.

Yes I agree that too much exercise will get you exhausted and sometimes you lose to much energy that you can no longer work properly.

I also stay at home and work as well as look after my children. At one point I was getting depressed about being at home all the time and started gaining weight. My husband has a gym in the basement so I figured if I have the equipment in my own home, I need to start using it. That was four months ago and I've lost 15 pounds and gained some muscle in the process. I find that if I miss a day it's not too bad but if I go longer then that I get irritable and don't feel like myself so I try and do it everyday or at the least every other day especially now that I've seen results. In the beginning it's hard because you are not seeing immediate results but you gotta stick with it. I jog on the treadmill for 10 minutes to get my hearbeat up and to get all the stiffness out. Then I'm on the weight machine for 10 minutes, free weights for 10 minutes, toning for 10 minutes and stretching for the last 10 minutes. Sometimes I go over the 40 minutes if I have no kids around because then I obviously have more time to focus on my workout. Then there is walking the children to school, housework, laundry and constantly running after a two year old. I've also cut out all my caffeine (with the exception of coffee), chocolate (that was the hardest) and a lot of refined carbs (white bread, pasta and white rice). Now that I've stopped eating that stuff I find I very rarely ever crave it anymore. Now if only I could quit smoking

You must be lucky to have a gym at home. You no longer need to go to the gym to work out. You just need a virtual instructor which you can get from the net. I know you can find some videos for work out instructions.

Well as for me, I work out at least 2 to 3 times a week... Either at the gym or at home... You should also make sure you drink a lot of water! Water is so good for you! I do mostly cardio, and some free weights! Give it a try! It is hard a first to get into a routine with work and family! But once you become accustomed, you will great! Take care my friend!

I drink a lot of water too. I know it is essential to the body when you drink a lot of water. It cleanses the body and it gives you a healthy skin as well.

Yes! I never drank that much water until now, I have noticed I barely have pimples or breakout, and have a little more energy!

Hi aicasalinks,
I wish I would exercise more. Actually I wish I even exercise at all.
You see, this is very much a vicious cycle. If you do not exercise, you don't feel fit. And if you don't feel fit, you don't feel like exercising (yes I know e.g. laziness plays a big part here too).
And the longer you not exercise, the more unfit you feel. And the more unfit you feel, the more you don't feel like exercise.
So it just gets worse and worse till... lolz?

This is probably quite a popular topic as we hear on the news almost daily now how important it is to get involved in regular exercise. I used to be a couch potato, well perhaps I still am! The thing I do differently now though is, I exercise three times per week. I love cycling and I tend to go out on solo rides, really enjoyable. I also bought several of those exercise machines from the shopping channel Best Direct. I have the Ab Lounge xl, the Totalgym xli and the Gazelle Freestyle xl. I guess my flat is no longer a flat but a home gymnasium! I have to dance around the machines in order to access my kitchen! It is true though that, when you exercise you really do feel good mentally! I cannot afford to go to a local gym so the next best thing is to have home exercise equipment. I still have a little something around my waist but it's slowly starting to disappear now I think! Andrew

I think by playing cricket alone makes you fit. It is good for you to have a sport you regularly play.

Hi Aicasalinks,
I exercise about 5 times a week. I have done it 7 days in the past but I find that I get to a certain time and I am physically unable to do anything, so I have decided to add rest days to avoid the week of rest scenario since resting drives me insane!
As for what I do, occasionally I go for walks outside but I have paranoia issues and so sometimes I find that stressful unless I am doing it for a reason more than just exercise. I walk to my voluntary job, and depending on the weather I walk to town and places like that too, but I don't go out too often unless I have to. Other than that my main form of exercise is weight lifting and random other things I have picked up from various TV programs and stuff like kicks, punches and squats. I am definitely a muscle person rather than a jogger lol!
Good luck with your exercising in the future,
Dranz

It is good to know you are regularly exercising. Yeah I think too much exercise like 7 days a week gets you too exhausted and physically and mentally stressed. Keep it up and thanks.

I try to exercise regularly but at the end of a long day it is the last thing I want to do! I do a lot of exercises when I do housework. I stretch a lot to make my muscles leaner. I do a lot of crunches when I am down on the floor playing with my five month old. I do calf raises when I am on the stairs. I like to do leg lifts and lunges when I have a spare minute. I tense my ab muscles when I am sitting at the computer or driving. Be careful jogging. It would be better to fast walk as it does not put as much strain on your joints (knees and ankles).

hello aicasalinks,
i seldom do the exercise. the only thing that i do in regular basis is walking. i think walking is exercise too but better if i can use the trademill or something. actually i bought one when my last work abroad. but i don't use it regularly. maybe because of my schedule in work. right now,i'm on afternoon shift and i wake up before 8 in the morning. do some household chores, watch tv while eating breakfast, do some on-line job and that's it. time flies without even me noticing it.
anyway, my work requires a lot of walking. hope that will help me stay fit.

I also have been working online for about three years. It is not good for our health sitting in front of the computer for a long time every day.I love jogging every Sunday afternoon and playing table tennis or basketball on Tuesday or Thursday night.I think I need regular sports to keep fit and have a healthy lifestyle.

My plan and aim is to do it 3 times a week. unfortunetely most of the time i get lazy or tired or bored, and i do it only twice a week. I and my mom go to the park, she walks, and i jog sometimes. usually i just walk with her. Can't jog for too long. Its nice, we talk, listen to our music or just enjoy the silence of the park. My advise would be get a partner, my mother motivates me and i guess i motivate her. on days when one of us isn't feeling up to it, the other one pushes, we end up doing it because of the commitment we put in it to each other.

I have not do any exercise on purpose now. But I go to work and go back home by foot everyday, it cost me about 15 minutes for one way. And after back home, I do the housework, such as cooking, doing laundry, cleaning my house everyday. I feel I need some exercise too, maybe just shorten the time sitting in front of the computer will be good for our healthy.
