There are movies that I can't stand not to have a single copy. Whenever I saw a film from the cinema that I really liked, I make sure that I bought a copy of it whenever the film releases its dvd or vcd version. Or if I saw a film from the television (HBO,STARMOVIE,ETC) that delighted me I search where to buy a copy of that certain film. And I watch the film all over again. I think it's worth buying. :) My favorites are The GodFather,The Shawshank Redemption, Face Off and Pan's Labyrinth. And many more..
Do you buy a dvd or vcd copy of your favorite film?
Which ones are your favorite? :)

Yes, I do. When the film is really good I like to keep a copy, so that whenever i would like to watch it, I just pop it in the dvd and watch it over again.
But it really has to be a very good movie for me to invest in it. So I do have a collection of movies but not as much since I want to store only the best movies for me.

I too will buy a movie from time to time, especially when they are offered (brand new titles) at a price under 5.00 as often is the case here in South Florida..I realize that these are bootleg copies but I really don't care about all that. Just yestereday I bought Beyonce in Obsession, which was a huge snore in my opinion but for 3.00, so what..I also have copies of my all time favorites (paid store prices too, lol) and will watch them every now and then and enjoy just as much as the first time around. Some of my favorites are Rain Man (Dustin Hoffman and Tom Cruise), A River runs through it, (Brad Pitt), On Golden Pond (Henry Fonda, Catherine Hepburn and Jane Fonda), One Flew over the Cuckoos Nest (Jack Nicholson), Good Fellows and the list goes on and on..I love movies and also rent from my local library every week. There selection, although not up to date as far as new releases goes, is pretty wide and you can always find something..and the best part is it is free..I have seen more movies from the library that I had never even heard of that were surprisingly good..also some disasters!! Going to the movies these days is a real luxury what with the cost of it, but its something I will always enjoy and if I can buy a copy for home at a price I can afford, I'm in!!

I'm glad that we share same passion. Wow! I also do rent sometimes in video rental shops near my place. Rain Man is worth buying. Oh yes I saw film reviews about Obsession, main reason why I did not buy a copy of it. Thanks for sharing your views and I might check On Golden Pond, is it good? I love classic films too. Happy mylotting.

yes, if I like the movie and i want to watch it again and again then i sure ly buy one copy. One more reason to buy movies is that they dont have any breaks or adds in that while watching movie on a national channel, its fully time wasting as if the movie is of 3 hours then the channel takes about 5 hours to finish.

I remember in 1997 I watched Titanic twice in the cinema. When it was shown on TV I did not miss it. When the VCD copy was available, I bought it. When DVD copy was available, I bought it too. It is my greatest film of all time. I can watch it once a week and still get excited with my favorite scenes.

yeah, normally a good book or movie can delight us to search for some copies of them for collection. But here is an advice for u,DVD OR VCD is really a good way for a good memory, but as far as i am concerned,u also can search for good moives on Internet and download them for a conservation.Famous works, such as God Father, The Shawshank Redemption and so on, all of them are in high quality for many kinds of formats on internet. May we make a full use of them.
Best Rgds

Yes, I do. I think we both have the same intention. If I like the movie, then I would buy a dvd copy of the movie so I could watch it again from time to time. There are just moments that I would do a movie marathon at home when I just want to relax and enjoy. I have several dvd movies at home. Well, it seems that we almost have the same taste. I have the Godfather, and Shawshank Redemption on my collection.

I don't have a habit of DVD collection. If I like the movie very much I am likely to buy the DVD. If its a good action movie or comedy movie then also I am likely to buy the DVD.

I almost never buy them. I almost never watch the few that we do own. We have Sin City, Queen of the Damned, Team America, 300, Casablanca and the Coneheads, which was a gift. 300 is one of my favorites, and I like the others but they aren't necessarily my favorites. I don't really like to watch the same movies over and over so it doesn't really make sense for me to spend money on DVDs.

Hi, I would definitely buy a DVD or VCD of my favorite movies. This is because I love the idea that I can watch it anytime I want. I have seen many movies, and if it is really worth the watch and the money I would really love to buy a copy of it. So far I have bought Princess Diaries, The Eye(Asian), and Heroes(Asian movie). As of now, I have stopped buying things because of the lack of budget. You know, its the period of global recession so I have to put a strong hold on my expenses.

Nope definitely not I can't afford it not on my budget. What I do so that I could have collection of that movie is to download on the net and burn it on my DVD writer and keep it and watch it when I needed to.I usually write it in a list what movies that I feel is very good that I have seen on cinemas or sometimes trailers that I find interesting.

I would usually watch movies on theater and television and I often have this feeling to buy an original copy whenever I watch a great movie, but the thing is that I get bored watching the movie again and again. I do not want to waste my money just buying something that I get tired of. Good for you though. But I say that The Godfather is a great pick and it is worth the buy. It is one of the greatest movie of all time. I have one original copy of that myself. I usually buy classic movies so that I can share it someday to the next generation and they will be able to pass it down until it will reach its limit. This is only my opinion. Happy mylotting.

Hum, there has been a really long time since I don't buy a movie, DVD or Blu-Ray. Actually I'd say it is because I live in Brazil, and things here are very expensive. Everything.
I'm barely going to the cinema nowadays! The last movie I saw was GI-JOE : The Rise of Cobra. Not the best thing around by the way.
All the movies I watch at home comes from the internet. i like to keep then on my PC for some time, after watching then the first time. I'm not sure yet but I may buy Transformers 2 blu-ray. It was the most awesome movie this year.

If the film was good enough to watch multiple times I will buy the dvd copy simply because it won't be in theater's forever and even if it was its cheaper to merely buy a copy.
I own about 150 dvd's, and 50 vhs.

I guess that makes you a certified DVD collector. Hehe.. I guess that's a very entertaining hobby. How much does a DVD costs nowadays? Still somewhere around 400 or more? If i'm not short of money then i would do the same but i would just collect hmm.. romantic movies and slasher/horror films. Call me cheesy but i do watch romantic movies secretly in my room in case i feel a little depressed for not having a girlfriend for more than a year now and not having the perfect girl.
