If there is one thing that China is famous for the world over,it is it's cuisine! Have you ever eaten in a Chinese restaurant? Do you know how to cook any Chinese food? What kind of Chinese food do you know? How do you like it? In most dishes in Chinese cuisine, food is prepared in bite-sized pieces, ready for direct picking up and eating. In traditional Chinese cultures, chopsticks are used at the table. Can you use the chopsticks? How many Chinese food stuff do you know?

I do love to eat Chinese foods. From steamed fried rice to siomai and all other Chinese dishes. Sadly, I do not know how to prepare Chinese foods. But I surely would want to learn how to cook some Chinese foods. Well, I also know how to use chopsticks. There are times when I go to Chinese restaurants and use chopsticks as I eat.

Chinese cuisine may serve you very delicious food! Haha, that's why lot of Chinese food keep fit much more easily than people in other country! One thing though, they may not stronger at some point! I saw that lots of Frenchmen are pretty high! I don't know whether it has something to do with the food! :D

Hi hiddenwing, I don't think that there are any really authentic Chinese restaurants where I live. But there was (and probably still is) a Chinese buffet place in a city not far from here and it did some more authentic Chinese dishes. I really liked dim sum. There was one that was rolled in a leaf and included I think chickens feet and tongues of some variety. I really enjoyed that, though when I took my brother to try that cuisine he didn't like it. I am definitely interested in typing more authentic Chinese food though, it looks lovely. All the best, Dranz PS: Does this question mean that you are Chinese?

I love all the chinese dishes, and I generally dine at AROMAS OF CHINA or BEIJING BITES, my favourite chinese dishes are fried rice and noodles, chopsuey, Pork fry and momos. We know to cook only chinese fried rice, and I possess chopsticks and I can use them like chinese.

Maybe you can tell me the way to properly pronounce the name of one dish some of my students fed me once. They told me it's common in Beijing, from which they came. It's easy, really. A large pot is set on the table, & in it go water & perhaps sesame oil, & certain spices--I don't know which. When this broth is simmering, the people take bits of meat & vegetables with their chopsticks & dip it into the simmering fluid for 1 to 3 minutes, then eat it. The name they gave it sounded much like "bok" or "bog whah." Is this something you could identify? I'd love to have it again; it is the only method of cooking shrimp I've ever encountered which made me like it! Also, do you have any idea what "fish sauce" is? It may actually be Korean or Vietnamese, not Chinese. In Austin, where I am in Texas, there are now more Oriental restaurants than Mexican! There are thousands of Oriental students at the University of Texas, you see. Any help you can give me would be much appreciated! Maggiepie "WHERE'S THE BIRTH CERTIFICATE?"

The Chinese pronuciation of the hot pot is ..."Huo Guo." The next time, you can say straight "huo guo", please! hahaha

The fish sauce can be bought in every big supermarket in China! I guess it doesn't come from Korea at all! It's surely of Chinese ancestry! :D

I love Chinese food. It is one of my favorite kinds of food to eat. Most Chinese restaurants I go to are buffet style. Now I've heard that Chinese food served in America is not actually the kind of food that Chinese people actually serve and eat in China. I imagine that's somewhat true. But I've yet to find something in a Chinese restaurant that I didn't like.

Yeah, it's cure! Like you guys, we also eat chips, but the cuisine is quite different! Well, we mixed chopped scallion pieces, chili and some mince meat with the chips! Then, the stuff is pan-fried! When the dish is served, you will find it amazing!

We have a chinese restaurant here in town and they have really good food. I like most of their dishes but not the ones with long white noodle looking things or tons of veggies. I love egg drop soup, General Geo's chicken, beef and broccoli and their cheesecake dessert. I'm thinking of going there again soon...and no, I haven't learned to eat with chopsticks yet. Not only do I love Chinese food, but any Asian food that catches my eye or nose (some of the stuff smells heavenly!) I lived in SEA for 9 months and adjusted to using chopsticks immediately...the only thing I couldn't eat with chopsticks was ice cream. I don't care about the kinds, as long as there is plenty of vegetables and rice in it. I also love won tons, spring rolls, egg rolls, egg fu yung and more.

I have never eaten in a chinese restaurant.I do not know how to cook chinese food except the instant noodles that gets cooked in two minutes.I like it very much.I do not know how to use chopsticks.I don't know many of them but i know a few that i eat once a while. The chicken noodles is my favorite as it gives me a lot of strength. Then in a restaurant nearby i love the taste of chicken fried rice. When i have a cold or when it is winter season here the soups are really good to drink. As starters i love to eat chicken spring roll and the crispy chicken lollipop.I love to eat my chinese foods in soy or spicy sauce.

I've had restaurant Chinese more often than homemade, but I love both. Homemade is superior, though. I can make egg rolls & stir fry, but I'm not really good at the rest--I wish I were! It would be very hard to choose a favorite dish, but I'll eat anything mushu'd! Maggiepie "WHERE'S THE BIRTH CERTIFICATE?"

No, I can't use chopsticks. I tried several times a long time ago, but could never get the hang of it. My husband and I worked for a gentleman from Korea for about 3 years. This was about 30 years ago. He liked to take us out to eat to a oriental restaurant that professed to serve Chinese food. I don't know if it was authentic Chinese or not. I just know that I liked it, especially the spicy dishes. I do not remember the names of the dishes. We have a Chinese restaurant about a mile from our house, but my husband refuses to go there. Everything they serve is served over rice, and he really dislikes rice. At home, I occasionally make a stir fry with left over chicken or pork and whatever vegetables I have in the crisper. I'll use any vegetable except potatoes or tomatoes. I serve that over noodles instead of rice.

There is one thing that you may not like so much about Chinese eating culture! As you know, you eat all by yourself! For instance, each of you has your own plate, then you pick the food that you want and put it there! So, others food won't pollute yours, hehe! Unlike you guys, we eat together, we all pick up food in the same plate for a same cuisine! One's chopstick will sure pollute others' dish! Sometimes, when we eat chaffy dish, all of the people fish up something in a same pot with soap! Soap are liquid! So, you can imagine how disgusting it will be for you guys! haha However, when some westerners eat together with us, we will eat in accordance with their culture! A year ago, we had an exchanging meeting with some French guys! My tutor served Chinese food like a buffet! They all found it fantastic! hehe

I had no idea that the Chinese people ate from a communal dish. I was aware that certain other cultures do that, though. The western way of having separate plates for each diner to eat from is probably a fairly new custom in the history of the world.

Yes and I love Chinese food. Actually, almost all Asian dishes are awesome, in my opinion. Although I love Chinese dishes, I hate that some of them are a little too oily sometimes. Anyhow, my favorites are: dumplings (almost any kind of dumpling is great), chicken feet (yum!), chicken or duck with chilis, plain old mixed veggies, noodles with beef (north west china style), bun filled with veggies, cold cuts, wow, this is making me real hungry.. I can't think of the names of the others, but there's so much yummy stuff in Chinese cooking.

I don't know how to cook chinese food, but growing up my family went to a chinese church. (We aren't chinese. My parents just liked it best). They had the most fabuous potlucks! Many of the people were actually from china and brought back the recipies they used there. It makes it hard to find a good chinese place to eat since it just doesn't taste like the real thing!
