Some people specially here in my country generally believe that a bigger family is better as when the parents get older that there are many children who can take care of him. ANd of course it is happier when you have many children every time you go out. and you won't get bored with big family And also people when shopping for stuff like canned goods and etc. they prefer to buy the bigger size to save more money cause the bigger size has more contents in less the price. some people think that The tall people is better than those who are small. like the taller people may look like a model and get to do more things. And some people like bigger house and lot. with spacious room and big garden. Actually even in fast food people like prefer the big size than the regular size. like here in my country the regular size is not enough to make enough satisfied with what they ate. but since i am avoiding fatty foods i don't eat burgers or eat on fast food. so if i do i prefer they regular size. I am not actually into big size. like i don't like to buy bottles or containers or whatever stuff or goods. i like the small cans and sachet cause i want only to open that i can i use up. i don't want to store excess food or opened canned on ref. i want to use all once i opened it And i think that having big family is ot always good. cause it is actually give a dent on our pocket specially the times we have now. Though i like a big house, but it depends if i can afford to pay for helper to maintain the house. if not i prefer to buy a small house. that i can clean myself.

I would have liked to have more kids (I have 2) but it is more expensive to feed, clothe and educate them. It would be fun for them I know because we were 4 in the family and it felt like we did not need other kids to play with as we were already enough in numbers. Let's see, for a house, I prefer a medium-sized house with just enough rooms for everyone. I believe the bigger your house is, the more you want to fill it up with stuff (because you feel it is empty)and the more things you have, the less space you have. For drinks like sodas, I prefer small sizes as they become flat once opened. I end up wasting it anyway because I like the fizzy drinks. Now, if I were to start raising horses, I would need a lot of land (I think 1 horse needs at least 1 acre of land to graze on). I would also prefer my garden to be bigger so I can plant more flowers and shrubs, even trees. In both cases, it will be more work, care and maintenance. To conclude, I guess small vs. big is relative. It depends on what you need it for, what you get out of it (some people feel claustrophobic in tiny, confined areas, for example) and if it satisfies your wants/desires.

The plus to buying larger sized products, such as foods, or shampoos, it that they cost you less in the long run per use. If you figure out the price per ounce, or per serving of something, you will see that if you buy the bigger package, it is usually FAR cheaper than buying smaller, or individual sized things. I don't mind having to store the extra...especially if it is something that i use pretty frequently, or that doesn't go bad. I buy all my meat in the large, family sized, bulk packages, even though i am never feeding more than two or three people at a time. I just simply splitit up when i bring it home from the store into single use sized packages, andput it in the freezer...this saves mea ton on my food bil. When it comes to houses...i would be far happier in a small house, with just enough rooms for what i would actually use. Less cleaning involved, and i wouldn't feel the need to buy all kinds of stuff i don't really need, just to FILL the house.

i think this old adage is true in most cases but not for all cases. Such as having a bigger debt or a bigger mouth or bigger head and stuff like that.

for me,l prefer to have a small family,i would like to have one child to let him/her have a good education and this will make me live more easily. i like a big house, but it depends on if i can afford it and how many family members will live in the house.i suppose three rooms are enough form me in next five years,so i bought a small apartment with three rooms. but in future,if i have to take care of my parents when they are old,i will think of buying a more bigger house.

wow, that is nice that you will buy a big house so you can care for your parents too. yes if we have more members in the house then bigger house is better. i love big house too but it is hard to maintain if you dont' have enough money.

Hi hotsummer, I don't necessary think that bigger is better in all cases but I'm sure it is in some. I find that most people are having smaller families in my country as they think it is all that they can afford. Many people also want their children to have a good education and that costs money. Three children is usually the most that you see, but many other only have one or two. Blessings.

yeah. i think some people like to have two children. but we can hear some mother give birth to 4 children at once and so they have no choice but to have this big family. i guess it is her destiny to have a big family.

I think for me a small family is a happy family. I believe in the motto 'we two, for us two'. First of all we must be financially stable to have enough kids or else we will make their life miserable. It is also believe that the family boding will be much more in smaller families than bigger families. Happy Lotting

i feel that family with two children are quite boring. ha ha. sometimes sad. specially if they children both go to school. and they tend to be busy in school activities. that there is no much people in the house.

Hello hotsummer You know that really depends on what the situtation is. Like you gave several different things. When it comes to family size Im not sure if bigger is better. My husband comes from a house of 6 kids..His mom has a terrible time at christmas on shopping. The kids all have their own lives and only one or two will help her around the house. So in her situation big wasn't better at all. Great discussion and you have a great day..

that is sad to hear that not all of his children are involve in taking care of their parents in their old age. yes every christmas it is more expensive to buy gifts for many children but it is happier.

"The bigger the family is, the better" - it's not necessarily true. Some believe that a bigger family means that it's God's blessing. Others just have a larger family to get more tax benefits. There are others who just love big families because they bring "life" into the whole family. No matter what the reason, there are implications. In the same way, having large things is not always good. Having a big house means higher expenses; eating a large burger means more cholesterol in your body. I think it's better than we do things in moderation. Not too big and not too small.

is there a tax benefit in having a large family in your country. there is no tax benefit here in our country. but still people here like to have a big family specially the poor. we don't have tax incentives for big families cause the government is discouragingn people to have big families as we already have a big population.

To me, it's more like "it all depends". Bigger isn't necessarily better, a bigger family means more mouths to feed, more bills to pay. More kids means more arguments and more activities. This can be good if you're a busy and extroverted kind of person, but perhaps not good if you're introverted and need your own space and quiet time. In addition, many only children seem to be lonely. As for the material things, a bigger house means more space, but also more to clean, more to take care of, more expensive to maintain. So again, it all depends. If you want a big family, then that's ok, you'll find ways to manage. And if you want a small family, that's good too.

but if you can afford it, i think that having a big family is really an advantage specially if you know how to discipline kids.
