I catch cold very easy, ever spring or autumn, i catch cold, because of temperature differences; But with few aspirins, a lot of tea and stay in bed few days, i am ok;
I never go to doctor when i catch cold i try to "fight" with this, with my grandmother advice; a chicken soup, some tea, and all will be ok
Do you go to doctor if you catch cold, ot just try to cure yourself with friends or family advices?

I catch usually only one cold every two years. Occasionally, like if the mutations in colds and flus are particularly nasty I'll get two in one year and one in the next.
I usually don't take any medications when I catch them and cure them with spices, tons of garlic, citrus, and swear off sugar and dairy for a few days (sugar supresses the immune system which is working so hard to oust the virus for you...making its job harder and extends the length of time you're sick and dairy kickstarts the mucus glands which're already working overtime to flush the virus out thanks to that immune system of yours).
I don't go to the doctor either. If things're severe enough that I can't sleep on my usual regimen of all this, I will break down and buy some cold medicine for congestion -- but taking is sparingly and only when necessary.
Self-treatment has worked out fine for me...as I always get over colds alot quicker than most people around me do.

My immune system is always circling the toilet. I pick up everything. Even if it's not so bad when someone else gets, it I'll get a worse version. I tell my assistants not to come when they're sick because I don't want to deal with the cold, flu, or whatever it is. Once, when a couple of years ago, my assistants and I kept sharing back and forth the same cold. Finally, it was decided that when I was better one of my assistants who had been sent home to recover would take care of me until all of my other assistants had also recovered. They didn't like working for two weeks straight but it worked. I think it we hadn't tried that, I'd still be passing back and forth the same cold. I don't actually know how I get colds since I drink more orange juice than any person ought to. I think it has to do with my allergy medication which is an immuno-suppressent, but I need that to breath so I'm staying on it.

I have not had a cold or the flu for years. I try to keep my immune system in good shape so it can fight that sort of thing off naturally and i do not have to worry to much about it. I eat right, get plenty of exercise, and supplement with what my body needs.

Usually I don't get sick very much at all. I haven't spent much time in my life being sick, maybe 1 cold a year.
This year I've already been sick 3 or 4 times. I'm still getting over the flu!
I don't normally go to the doctor for it unless I think it's worse than just your average cold or flu. If I have a bad sore throat I'll have that looked at to make sure I don't need antibiotics. Or if my ears ache I'll have that looked at. Anything that might need a prescription medicine to clear up, then I'll go see the doctor. Otherwise I'll just try to rest and wait for it to go away on it's own.

Well this year I plan on getting a flu shot for sure, so yes, I do get the cold very very easily and always around fall time. And I usually have to go to the doctor because if I don't treat it, usually it turns into something worse like bronchitis.
Its so funny though, my boyfriend is the complete opposite he rarely ever get sick. And hes the same way as you are, he likes to 'fight it' when he is sick and not go to the doctors. Sometimes it worries me because he gets it real bad but his immune system is amazing because he always pulls through.

i usually very easy to get Cold. Just a few rain drop in my head, and then, after a few hour, i will get Cold. But the Cold usually doesnt really bad. In a day or two, the cold already gone. I Usually never take medicine in the first day, but after two day, i take generic medicine for cold that was sold freely. If in five or six day my body still feel the cold, i go to the doctor then.
Thats for me.

I don't catch cold easily. Maybe because I take care of myself very well. But once I catch a cold, I get very sick that lasts for about 3 days.

I don't catch bad colds very often, but I do have minor ones now and then. I never go to a doctor with them because a doctor can't do anything about a virus, except tell you to get plenty of rest and drink a lot of clear liquids, take something for aches and pains and deal with it until it's over.
I take echinacea when I feel one coming on and do like you - rest, take chicken soup, tea and so on.

Hi icesmile, I guess I am very fortunate because I almost never catch a cold, in fact I'm rarely sick at all. I think you're wise to follow your grandmother's advice, especially when it comes to a cold because there are some excellent home remedies that work very well. Blessings.

My friend, garlic, usually keeps me in a good state of health. I like to cook with it and I also keep the supplements around the house for all sorts of things. I have read that garlic not only has an antibiotic affect but also an antiviral affect. I have a recipe for chicken noodle soup that I make from scratch which calls for a whole bulb of garlic being added to the chicken pot. When I make that soup, we all seem to stay healthy. I also like to use baked garlic as a spread on my bread instead of butter. I just think it tastes better. So, whenever I get the sniffles, it's time for me to break out the garlic.

I get sick only certain times of the year. My sinuses in the spring are soooo bad. I can't talk for like 3 weeks and my nose is all gross. I just live with nyquil in my hand those weeks. Lots of orange juice and stuff. its so bad. I'm a singer too so losing my voice is so bad. I hate being sick. I get regular colds only once a year or so and rarely ever get stomach flus. But I take pretty good care of myself and try to keep healthy.
