One of the gals I work with brought a bunch of apples she has from one of her many apple trees....so tonight I made an apple crisp and I just got done eating a nice warm piece with some whipped topping. It was sooo yummy! Have you had any season treats like apple crisp....carmel apples...?

Oh does that sound yummy, yummy, yummy!
I wish you could send me a piece in the mail, lol! And with whipped topping yet, and nice and warm, mmmmm.
No, I haven't had any real season treats yet, but, I did have a Yoplait chocolate whipped yogurt, and that settled my craving for chocolate tonight, haha. It was so good and hit the spot, and I soooo love chocolate.

Sounds good, u are making me hungry. I usually get apples from a friend of mine, good apples to & the darn squirrels ate everyone of them this year, the little buzzards.

They can be a pain in the butte. The same lady that has the apples has pecan trees & they eat all her pecans to.

I love apples. It's not quite cool enough here to do the fall apple treats yet. However, an apple crisp sounds awesome!! My friend has never had caramel apples before. I am going to have to go out to the store and buy some apples and caramel to make homemade ones. What are your favorite caramel apples? Covered in nuts, or drizzled with chocolate.

Not yet but I sure will. I love those carmel apples and get my share as we get closer to Halloween. I don't make them because I'd be in big trouble. That's all I would eat instead of a meal. Sometimes I don't use good judgment when it comes to eating. Love that junk food. My husband will buy for me when he sees a huge one. I do also love apple crisp and would overeat that as well. Actually, I don't eat enough fruit so this is a good way to get fruit in my old, wrinkled body..lol

I have a Sarah Lee apple pie that is heavenly. I can only have a very small peice each time. It has the best crip apples and It is wonderful. The cinnamon is fantastic!

My favorite is cherry season and I just eat the cherries straight. Nope, no seasonal treats yet. We should go up to apple hill soon and do something, pick up a pie maybe.

Not apples, but I love the seasonal "Halo-halo" that comes out every summertime. This is a mixture (mix-mix) of beans, jackfruit, banana, sweet yam, mixed with crushed ice, milk and sugar. It's a delicious dessert during the hot months of summer. I think it's only in the Philippines that we have this.

Hi Jillhill, like the responder above I too have never heard of apple crisp even though apples are in the shops all year round here. I think a caramel apple must be the same thing as a toffee apple and haven't seen or heard of those since childhood days.
Seasonal treats at the moment are pomegrantes and figs straight from the trees, extremely delicious and fresh.

Oooh I love apple crisp! The only seasonal treat I've had so far has been Pumpkin Ale and Pumpkin coffee. YUM! I love pumpkin flavored things. I really need to learn how to bake pie and crisp because my husband and I just bought a ton of apples at the farmer's market last weekend! I can't wait for Thanksgiving to have some pumpkin pie. Oooh yum..I'm so glad the holidays are on there way.

Hello my friend,
There you go again, making my mouth water lol.
for 3 years in a row we went to pick fresh strawberries
in Oceanside California, about 50 miles from San Diego.
Any time between late May and end of august.
We usually buy a small bucket and then go into the field
to fill with strawberries. Tho a little expensive, we enjoyed picking them and then I would make home made jam or Jelly as well as other things like desserts.
However I was sad to see that this year the fields were closed down.
So I will have to find some other places to pick my own fruit around here.
I so much enjoy organic fruits and vegetables.
Oh and I LOVE Carmel apples.
Happy myLotting :)
