I am currently 6 months pregnant and looking forward to buy stuffs for my baby. When is the ideal time to start shopping? What should I buy, and how many? How to choose ones with good quality? This is our first baby, so I still have no experience. Do you have any experience regarding this? Please share! Thanks in advance.

I waited until I was 7 1/2 months pregnant with all 3 of my girls. I was afraid to shop too early because I wanted to make sure nothing would go wrong with the baby. If your only having one baby just buy one of the same outfit. I bought about 10 onsies, 10 outfits, a bunch of blankets like recieving ones. I also bought a travel system (stroller/carseat combo), bassinet, bouncy seat and baby swing. I bought alot of the clothing at Walmart, target and Kmart for the first year as they grow way too quickly to spend $30 on just one outfit. I didnt see the point it buying something the baby would wear once and pay $30 for it. Good luck and congradulations. I hope everything goes well. It's a great and memoriable experience. No matter how many children you have, be it your 1st child or your 5th child. The experience is always different. Congrats once again.

I agree with you. Babies grow before you know it lol. I definitely will take the advices from ladies here not to buy to many same sized clothes. Yes, I'm sure it will be a memorable experience, that's why I can't wait to shop like crazy lol.

Congratulations on your pregnancy. I think six months is the ideal stage to begin shopping for your baby. I wonder if you know if you are having a girl or a boy? If you don't know it would be better to buy neutral colored clothing. I think you will need at least six body suits and three different outfits. You will need nappies. Your baby will need somewhere to sleep. You baby might need a changing mat. A bouncy chair and a soft mat are useful for a baby from birth to six months old. My baby girl is now three months old and she has grown a lot since she was born. The size 0 to 3 month clothing didn't fit her for long. I suggest you shop at excellent quality shops like Marks and Spencer's.

Are you having a baby shower? With our first child I didn't know what we were having. I waited till my baby shower before I bought too much, that way I could see what I still needed. After my baby shower I got a crib and other big items from my family so I set them up and then bought the little things missed. If you aren't have a baby shower you could just start buying now that way you have everything you need by the time the baby gets here.

Hi. I have 3 children. Six months along is a perfect time to start doing some shopping. Make a list and then each time you go out for some shopping...pick up a few items on your list.

The saying is its bad luck to tell anyone or buy anything in the first trimester. Your passed that so go crazy. I did. Don't buy a lot of newborn items because they grow so fast, start with a few newborn and then go to the next sizes. Your going to need a lot of burp cloths and onesees. If your having a baby shower, don't buy a lot because you are going to get a ton of stuff at your shower. Congratulations on your little one coming, it is such an exciting time in your life.
