I started off in grand style and have reached a point where I am almost on the verge of making my first payout. However, off late, my writing has dipped to a low and this has affected my earnings too. Now that i'm nearly there, I want to get back to writing and discussing full time. So, how do you manage to keep yourself motivated to receive payments after payments?

as they say, set your eyes on the carrot or prize. if you are almost there, then push yourself more to get there. in my case, after receiving my first payout and actually credited to my bank account, i got motivated and focused on making it every month. there is no other motivation than making the payout every month. well, making friends and connecting to people add values to being here. goodluck!

I guess so. I'm just on the verge of receiving my first pay, and though I got to $8.00 in quick time, I had some matters to attend to, and this set me back considerably. I hope that I can get a lot more referrals and make more money in the coming months. Thanks for the post.

I like you suchi, am quite new here on Mylot. Here is what I do when I am not "feeling in the mood".
First, I make sure I have responded to everyone who has posted in a discussion I have started. If I catch that up, I go to my friends list and choose one of their discussions to respond to.
Even if my mojo doesn't return by then, I have at least participated to some degree. Usually though, while doing these activities, I find other similiar discussions (the ones you see on the right of the screen). I try to answer at least one or two of the new users each day as well.
If none of that works for you, just take a break. Walk away for however long it takes you to WANT to be back. Good luck to you.

For me MyLot is not about the money. Its a place to find the pulse of whats going on with people and get honest feedback. I started out trying to make money but I found I like the banter of discussions back and forth and appreciate it.

I think the only way to be consistent on here and to really get anywhere is to keep your focus on what your reward will be. You need to set some sort of targets and then just do your best to meet them. I think that when you do get your first pay you will feel rewarded, which in itself is very motivating to continue. And remember the end of the month is very close now, and it would be such a shame to miss payout if you are quite close to it!

When I started participating and doing the tasks, i regained my interest here in mylot however it is very tiresome to wait to achieve the minimum payout.

From the mylot i improved my English a lot.. i was very poor in the English from that ans i improved my typing speed also.. and i think i very fast writer now.. hehe and apart from that i got so may friend from all round the word and the most important i earned good amount of knowledge also from the various discussion and the response.. and i earned the earning too from the mylot..

Personally I think all of us that have been members here for any time at all have gone thru this slump, and many of us have learned to work thru these as well. I know it does get discouraging, and sometimes my Earnings have slacked, but I find if you are feeling bored here maybe a short break from here could never hurt you as well. What I tend to do is come in here and see if there are any discussions I am really interested in responding back too, and respond to them and if there is nothing worth responding too I will go find something else to do for a while and come back here when I am more in the mood.
Just remember to never over do it, and if you need a Break we will all understand. Just hope you don't run off too far and forget all about us as well. Wishing you the Best.

I find it hard to really keep a lot of focus here but the thing is, I've found that it becomes harder to stay focused here the later into the week it becomes and the more tired I am from working at my full time job. I'm just so tired in the evenings that I don't feel like coming here too much to post.
So, I just come here and try to find as much interesting things to post to as I possibly can. Whenever I get too tired or bored I just move on. I figure that by staying here and trying to force myself to post I'm just making the whole thing worse on myself.

Hi suchi,
Will how do I put this, when I started mylot I didn't really know how to make good money here but I tried my best to reach the first pay out in one month and I succeed. It wasn't easy because I have to stay my brain alive and thinking for discussions. If I were you everyday try to post at least 10 and the next day look at your earnings and sure that will motivate you. Thats how I motivate myself, when I log in in the morning I look at my earnings and I tell myself if you keep doing what you do everyday and add little bit more you'll reach the pay out in such and such of days. For me it works anyway.
Good luck and hope you reach your pay out soon.

From you description above, it looks like you are now satisfied with the goal that you had set on mylot, "To achieve the first payout". Now that as you target is almost there you have started feeling that there is nothing more left to work for.
To get back motivated and participate on mylot you will have to setup a higher target. The higher target can be anything like getting payments every week. (I actually like this goal as it is perpetual) or getting 50 referrals in 3 months. These both goals will go long in your earning money of mylot.
