Have you ever met an online friend, for real, as in, you met in real life?
If you have, how has it gone? Did you hit it off, or were they a bit different to what you expected?
Did they annoy you, or have a trait, you found a bit offensive, or did you gel, and it has made you friends for life..on and offline?
I met Tattylashes, having spoken online for 3 years, and she was everything i thought she would be....i felt truly comfy with her, to the point, we could fart, and nothing was said! LOL (just kidding)....
A brill lady, just so down to earth!
What experience have you had? Good or bad?, on meeting, an online friend, for real!

I've met a few over time. The first one should have put me off for life but hey - don't regret what you haven't tried (and got right)!
She turned out to be the oddest of people and 7 years later she still emails weird stuff from time to time. The most recent occasion was two days ago. At least she's consistent.
As for others, maybe 6 altogether - all went well. They were as I'd expected them to be and a lot of fun. I wouldn't say we're friends for life but we keep in touch, in and among.
I even met my other half by way of an online encounter - it all started with a disagreement on a site I used a few years back, though at the time he was an irritant, not a potential future partner. Some time down the line, we met up through mutual friends and from that point, just hit it off.
Maybe another year or so later we ended up living together. And to be honest ... he was nothing (offline) like he was when I bumped into him on the net.
It's a weird world we sometimes live in ;)
*and he still irritates me from time to time*

Hi Forestgold,I have had the pleasure of meeting p1kefish and Ellie:D from here they are everything I thought they would be like and even more, Tamarafireheart (my best friend) was with me at the same time so it was absolutely lovely to all be together and have a lot of fun, we all hit it off and have been friends since. It is also as lovely to be able to get to know someone from here and talk to them on the phone. I often speak to Craftcatsher from here too on Skype and a couple of others. It is amazing how we make friends from all over the world from myLot and if it wasn't for mylot at times we wouldn't know each other at all! Hugs LoLo

My husband and I met up with sparks (fifty) and her husband for the weekend. We had a wonderful time. When we saw each other we knew each other right away. It was as if two long lost friends had finally met up again, even though we had never met before.
We had a wonderful breakfast together and then we went to our rooms to freshen up for a day out in town. We saw lots of artists and their prospective arts. We had a fabulous lunch and went to a book store. We also shopped in another store.
We spent the day together had an outrageously fab authentic Irish meal at a pub. The next morning we went to breakfast together and then we went back to pack up and get ont he road as we all had a distance to go.
I would love to meet up with other friends here. That is something I am looking forward to setting up when I can.

I've had very good experiences meeting friends from online, but I've only met guys from the guitar forum I've been part of for 11 years. A few lived in my town and we used to get together every few months until I moved. Now I'm near another part of the forum membership and we've met and like to visit, too.

The only friends I met online are those who are my real friends. =) So, we meet each other at first time, then we become online friends, and meet every single day. It is not the other way around. But meeting one 'real online friend', I've never done that before, but I'm always happy to meet someone new. Especially if he/she is very nice.

Hi,
as i said, i have had good, and not so good, so it is worth a try, because i have made friends for life, others have faded away, but that is the way it goes sometimes.

Hi forestgold. I have been chatting for quite a while now. I have a lot of friends online and some are from different parts of the world. Some are well-meaning friends, decent and people who make sense. But also there are people who are naughty and very off. I once had a chance to meet someone from the same origin. We both agreed to meet for real. He was definitely goodlooking. Unfortunately, his manners are not good. He was so arrogant in ways, and in manner of speaking. It was totally intolerable. I just told him that I need to buy something. I immediately took off when I had that opportunity. It really sucks!!!

Hi jules,
so sorry you were made to feel like that.
You did right, taking off, it is not worth it.
looks can be deceptive, and you felt let down.
You are obviously too nice for him, so let him fade.
Sorry you had to go through that, it is dissapointing, but his loss, obviously! ;((

I have never thought about meeting my internet friends in real life, because the beautiful feeling will disappear in my heart. If met in my real life , it will be diffrent . I think online friend just online is ok.

I can agree with that too, Kl
I have had a good experience, of meeting an online friend, we got on, like we had known each other forever, and will remain friends, on and offline.
I also have had a headache or two, having met someone for real, they can have traits, or different attitude, that can lead to problems.

I didn't made a girl friend online. But one of my friends did.First they just talk on the instant message. And after some while, not very long I think, they came out to meet. And they attract each other, finally became a couple. And they last for about two years I think ,then just broke up.Actually It's very normal to find a boyfriend or girlfriend online today. It's not much different from offline dating.

breezy style. She sure does sound down to earth, and that I would like too.

Hey,
Well I personally have never met any of my online friends in real life. I mean, I might one day meet some of them, but for now I don't really have the money or the time to actually meet some people in real life. Make sure you have a good day, God bless and Happy Lotting!!

i have lots of cyber friends because i was fond of chatting online before but i am afraid in meeting them in real person because i am not the kind of person who easily trust strangers.
