I read paranormal romance, I love to get lost into different worlds when I read and escape my everyday mom/housewife roll... and I love books about vampires.... I really couldnt say why as there is just something to it that attracts me to these story lines.
I have read a couple series that were based on vampires.. such as Kathryn Smith, Brothers of Blood series which I really enjoyed and that was 5 books long.
I just learned of a new Gena Showalter series about vampires that I am going to start getting those books.
I have not read the Twilight series yet, but I have heard it is very very good. It is on my list of books to get.
So do you read vampire books?? Do you have a favorite book or series that you follow?

I agree with you on Twilight. I love to watch it. It gives a different spin to how we think about vampires. I'm not sure about books and other series, but i liked John Carpenters film "Vampires!"

So far the only vampire series I could stand reading was Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles.(Usually I stick to true crime or manga)
Personally I loved them, my only complaint is that they were quite long and sometimes the detain would confuse you if you weren't paying attention. (They're a series you need to concentrate on)
I tried reading some other vampire novels but they seem really boring. (Although I'm probably going to check out the ones you were talking about just to see.)
Another thing, I'm very surprised on how many fans there are of Twilight.
I hated the books! They were too redundant, the main character wasn't in any way believeable and the ending, well let's just say it really annoyed me. I mean how much more perfect can she get? Honestly!

I havent read anything by Anne Rice although I know of those books... my cousin was reading them until I gave her a bag full of my books and she is addicted now to a whole new world of books!!
as for the Twilight I have not read these books yet so I have no idea how they are written or end...so I cant comment on that as of yet.
thanks for the response and have a great day!

Oh yes, I love paranormal romance and I read as many as I can get my hands on. I, too, have not read the Twilight series but I will read them eventually. I just have so many others that I want to read first. Some of my favorite vampire series are the Night Huntress series by Jeaniene Frost. There are four of them and they are one of my favorite series that I like to read over and over again. The titles are Halfway to the Grave, One Foot in the Grave, At Grave's End and Destined for an Early Grave.
Another one of my favorite series is the Glory St. Claire series by Gerry Bartlett. There are four of them. The titles are Real Vampires Have Curves, Real Vampires Live Large, Real Vampires Get Lucky and Real Vampires Don't Diet.
I have read the Argeneau Vampires series by Lynsay Sands and I like them. Most of them anyway. As with any series, there are a few that I didn't find as good as others but overall I like them and read them when they come out (or as soon as I can afford them anyway!). There are quite a few in the series so I won't list them here.
I am always on the look out for good vampire books and the ones I've mentioned here are just a very few of the ones that I have read and enjoy. I don't know what it is about vampire and paranormal romances but the pure escapism from reality might be part of it for me.

The Twilight series was the best vampire series I have read. It was one of those that I just could not put down and once I finished one book, I had to go out and get the next right away. I read the entire series in less than a week. I just could not put those books down.

I'm like you when it comes to reading. I like to get lost in different worlds and escape my everyday life. I like to imagine I'm in a play or movie while I'm reading and I pick out a character in the story that I feel like describes me and I play like I'm that character. I haven't read any vampire books in a long time. The last time I remember reading one was when I was in high school and I think the title of it was "Dracula". I still like to read these kind of books. It's just that I haven't had a chance in a long time. Kathy.

I was just telling my hubby that I would love to read the original "dracula" just to see how it was wrote and perceived when it was first written vs all the different types of books they have out now that focus on vampires. I have been very busy myself and have not read in a couple weeks, but I cant wait to get back to my books!!
thanks for the response and have a great day!

The only vampire books that I read are the twilight series. I think it is a good book. It was just sad because Meyer will not finish the midnight sun.
