What are the advantages and disadvantages of turning the clock in advance time? At home my mom always turning the clock in advance. She said its better to make it in an advance time than in exact time. Because we'll always wake up late and sometimes when we are having schedules i will go their late and even at work. For me I've never get advantages of it because i always rhinking of the advance. but i really try to change my attitude because it is not good and it will lead me into a miserable life.

Hi, I think I can totally understand what is your feeling because I had done the same thing. My clock is always five mins advance, however, I don't think the advance time works. I will substrate 5 mins from pretent time. So turn the clock in advance is just a trick to lie oneself. It doesn't make sence. Good luck.

I find myself doing exactly the same thing when I set my clock in advance I just read the correct time because I kniw it is fast. I used to think that maybe I should get someone to set my clocl in advance for me but then even if someone else sets in for your once you see the correct time somewhere else you begin to start subtract all over again.

For me? It would be of NO use. Why? it's because you know still the exact time. What would be the difference between setting it on the right time and setting it up on advance mode? If you want not to be late in your appointment and your basing your time on the exact mode, you have to go in advance of that...so, what's the different does it make? whatever you would do with your clock, I know you always came late, whatever!!!!!

I cannot comprehend this idea our mothers have on setting clocks so that it will be 20 to 30 minutes advance than the actual time. I guess this stems from the "Filipino Time" thing where when you say 3:00, people come an hour or two later. I used to ask my mother not to adjust it so many times so that it will show the exact time, but she always sets it either five or ten minutes in advance. What's more ridiculous is that you will never find two clocks in the house showing the same time. Even her wristwatches.

haha...maybe your mom should set the clock in advance without telling to you! hehe but anyway, in our house, we also set the clock about 10 mins advance...hehe and i set the alarm atleast another 15 mins advance...specially when i have important schedule for that day that we need to wake up really early... its an advantage for me coz it gives me some time to feel lazy getting up! haha...you know, so if i feel lazy to get up for a few moment after waking up...i still have few minutes before the exact time...so in the end, i will not be late for my schedules...:-)

hi there, turning the clock in an advance time works for me and with my kids who's time for school is really early. the time is only advance for 15 minutes. i am used to this kind of system at home. i think 20 to 30 minutes is too much for an advance time. but given the traffic in our country this makes sense for you'll not be late for work and with your appointments!
