I honestly have not read the Bible, but I have heard so many things about the Bible. Just recently I have seen many news regarding disaster, tragedy, crimes and other things that is not peaceful in our planet. I heard from a person that these are signs that the world is coming to an end. I am very scared with what might come next. Super typhoon, earthquake, tsunami, and other. What do you think? Is it the near the end. Is this what the Bible in the Revelation is saying? Are you prepared? Have a nice day.

Hi marctiu...happy mylotting... I am a non christian still i know about some sections of bible through my friends(who are all christians)... they say like everything that is going to happen has been told by JESUS CHRIST in the early dyas itself... and its exactly happening in the same way JESUS has told... so may be our world is moving towards the climax.... but i still remember the lines my friends told me....'those who has accepted Jesus through baptism will vanish all of a sudden then the remaining people will die'..... so never fear about the end buddy... everything has been decided already....

I've accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior and been baptised. I am waiting to be 'caught up in the air'. BUT if it has been interpreted wrongly and it does not happen that way...so be it. I will not bow down to anti christ and worship him, and I guess that means I loose my head. And yes, I do believe The Anti christ is alive and operating in the world today as we speak.

I think that everything that is written in the Bible are visions of what might come. That's really a nice line. Well, as long as we keep our faith and we truly trust in the Lord and we obey His commandments. I guess everything will be fine. Thanks for the response gowriv. Happy mylotting. Have a wonderful day.

firstly, you have not read what is written in bible. you blindly believed someone who said these are signs of the end of the world. if you were a little inquisitive, you would have asked him to explain these in detail - the likely year, month, date, hour etc. Also if you were really interested in knowing if these are true, you would have gone out to a bible store and purchased a copy of bible and started your own search than trusting the media or believers who will go to any length to prove that their holy books predicted these long time back. Here is my advise. these are changes that happen due to various reasons. some times these happen globally. but this will stop all of sudden and disappear. that is the nature of nature. what if the end of earth is due to nuclear bombing by human beings? doesn't that contradict the bible which says typhoons, earthquake and other natural disasters? never trust the views and opinions of others. Including MINE. do your own search / research. you will be happy that you encountered the truth on your own.

Debra, There has been a nuclear bombing in the area of middle east may be about 10000 years or before. there is clear sign of it. these are events that has been recorded in the sumerian tablets of earlier times. most of it are lost to us. not just that area, other parts of the world too has the similar kinds of incidents. mountain and meteor are two different things and ancient people are intelligent enough to recogise the difference between the two. anyway i will do some reading of the book you mentioned and come back later.

Concerning the mountain/meteor thing...If a first century common man saw a meteor falling from the sky it just might be described as a 'mountain'. And then we have translators thrown into the mix, huh?

Actaully, Tulipstrader...you need to take your own advice and read the book too. There is mention of 'elements melting with a fervent heat' in the book of Revelatin. To me, that sounds like nuclear war. There is also, in the Old Testament, descriptions of what sounds like the clean up after the use of nuclear weapons. I believe in Jeremiah. Earth changes are not the only disasters spoken of. BTW....there is a passage that speaks of a mountain falling into the sea....a meteor?

Revelations is very cryptic. The Bible isn't that specific. It's just people's interpretations. There is reason to believe, though, that Revelations was written in reference to the politics of the time, with the Romans and whatnot and the persecution of Christians at the time. Armageddon is also a (translated/slightly changed) name of a place in the middle east (at the time) where the final battle was supposed to take place, and there was a huge battle there years and years and years ago in Roman times.

On the other hand, Bible stuff aside (people have always been saying since Jesus was last here and probably even a lot longer that the world was about to end), all the weather stuff (storms, earth quakes, climate change), is largely due to the changes in our climate, due to the pollution to the air / water / natural habitats, and it could lead to storms and changes to the planet to large that most people won't be able to survive (and I guess that being the end of the world as far as people are concerned as a species).

So what you mean to say that the Revelation in the Bible are stories which happen a long time ago and people just interpret it and make it something that they believe it would happen. Right? I really have no idea on the Bible, but I really believe in Jesus Christ and God. Well, it is worth believing than suffering from ignorance. Have a nice day. Thanks for the response. Happy mylotting.

Actually, Revelation does NOT say there will be an end to the earth, as in be no more. Human rule of the world will end. Jesus said the signs would be like birth pangs, being in labor. As the time of delivery comes nearer, the pangs (signs) get nearer together and harder to bare. I believe we are in those times when God will judge human government of the world. He is the Creator of weather, he is the Creator of plate tectonics, he is the Creator of ALL the natural systems that operate in the physical world....but mankind was given dominion, and has horribly used their knowledge and power to upset the natural order of things. How fitting that the very earth we live on and have abused is turning against us. Not to mention that mankind has turned their back on God's love and his laws for right living. So, the evil that mankind IS capable of will rear its head and consume many in wars and famine and pestilence. These are not God's wishes for mankind, it is the choice that mankind has made for itself. I am ready...I know some very hard times are coming...I am a little fearful and much dismayed that there are people who are going to die and am not looking forward to that. But I learned a long time ago that people will reject your warnings and your help and there is nothing that can be done about that...except pray they listen in time.

I totally agree that mankind have abused nature. The illegal cutting of tress, the wastes, and all. I really think that this is God's plan and He has foreseen this to come. I believe that mankind is to blame all this and nothing we can do can stop this. Thank you for the response. Have a nice day. Happy mylotting.

Well I can give you my input in this discussion. I know alot of people will not like what I say but it is what I feel. I dont totally know what to say becouse I do not belive in the Bible. I do not put down what anyone else thinks so I hope they will not judge me on what I think. I think there is mother Earth and all things are met to happen for a reason. I just do not beleive there is a god or the is the Holy spirit. The reasons I do not beleive in these things is becouse if there was a god or a Holy spirit then why dose he let all these bad things happen. People that i know that beleive in god has told me god knows all then why dose he let us have mistakes and then punish us for it if he knows we are going to do it. Why dose he not stop us. Well tis is what I think I hope you will not judge me for it.

Why do Christians suffer, as you say? Evil rules this world right now. That's why. And anyone who tries to live a Godly life, according to righteousness and God's law...is going to be persecuted and maligned by that evil in the world. Before anyone jumps on me for calling this world system of governance EVIL...take a look around you at what human rulers and those who follow them are doing right now.

Well, I am not going to force you to believe in God and I really respect your opinion. My experience with the power of God is really extensive. I truly believe that he answers my prayer and he is the one that can save us. I know that there are many religious people suffering and I believe that they suffer much than those who do not believe in God. I just really don't know the logic behind that. Well, this is life and we are freelancers here. Have a nice day. Thanks for your response. Happy mylotting.

Remember that nobody can really tell what is to happen, it is so written too in the Bible. So, fearing what might happen will only make you stuck. If I were you, as long as you do the things that don't harm others (by doing what's right and good) then that's the way to prepare. Nobody is perfect, and there will always be times when we can't help but commit mistakes. But making sure not to repeat the same mistakes and striving for perfection is how to do it. Another point though, some people use 'fear' in order to have change, but we all know that ignorance will not make a society better. So, if I were you, I'd seek what the true meaning of God's words are in the Bible. You can attend Theology classes and Bible sharings (that don't really have the sole intention of recruiting you to their church) so as you would know how good the Lord is. As for me, I can't say whether I'm prepared or not. But I'm making sure I am confident in what I'm doing. Remember that everything is inevitable and worrying won't do you any good.

I believe that nobody can really say that when this things will come and when this things will occur. I agree that we should truly prepare ourselves on what might come because we may never know and we should be extra good to enter the Kingdom of Heaven someday. Thanks for the response. Only God knows when the world is coming to an end. These tragedies have been going on for centuries, and I would think it should get much worse before that day comes. Maybe thru tragedies, one will find faith in God, and not be so worried when the end times come. Therefore, if you are scared, I would start reading the Bible, so you will have fear.

I totally believe that only God knows that the end will come. I know that the tragedies and calamities are going on for like centuries, but there is something different about this time because these calamities where spontaneous. Well, like what we believe in only God can tell. Thanks and I'll start reading the Bible. Have a nice day. Happy mylotting.

Hello friend, It is not a matter if you have read the BIBLE or not as long as you believed in GOD,and JESUS CHRIST. Since there are lots of people who claims to have read the BIBLE and says they are christians but defies God from their doings. The Bible really sights the end of the world and all it's signs. If you believed in it,then, the best thing you can do is to be prepared and have self meditation.

Preparation is one thing that we should do. The Bible uses metaphor and stories that are very comprehensive that human brain develop many ideas regarding the bible. I believe that we should always pray and ask for mercy and forgiveness. Thanks for responding. Have a nice day.

Very true... Its scary to hear all these things and it is true that the time has come, but no one can say when the worlds going to end. Its all inGod's hand. All we have to do is believe in HIM and lead a life of righteousness and be prepared. The disasters given in the Bible are very scary, but we have to face it... and we have no choice.

As others have said, yes, Revelation does talk about these things, but then earthquakes, famines, wars etc have all been happening for centuries - though yes, I can see why you would think we are living in the end times, and I have heard many other people say so. But then, when Jesus said he was coming back again I am sure the disciples weren't thinking he mean't after a couple of thousand years, they probably thought in a much smaller timescale after everything that had happened already. The Bible also says no one knows the day or the hour. The important thing is to be living in a relationship with God right now. You don't know when the world will end, and you don't know when YOUR world will end.

Thanks for the response. I agree that we may never know when our lives will be taken away. Preparation is really a nice choice here. I believe that this calamities and tragedies have going on for like a century or so, but this one is different. I feel the wickedness of this calamities and I can truly say that mother earth is really in a rage. But I can't really judge that. Have a nice day.

I have read the Bible several times when I was younger. It was hard reading especially the Old Testament. I appreciated better the New Testament. Signs of the times? I guess what's happening is more the outcome of man's actions on the planet unless we do something about it. One can never be prepared for these things. I am scared of it as well. In the meantime, let us try to enjoy life.

If you do plan to read the Bible at some point, I wouldn't suggest starting with Revelation, because it will scare the hell out of you. I would start with the New Testament and the Good News. While the things that are going on in the world can be frightening, we can't let fear keep us from living life right up to the end, whether the end means dying from old age or dying from natural disasters. It's good to be prepared not afraid. Plus, if you're a believer, then don't forget that even if the end IS near, we're all going on to something better than this world anyhow.

Truthfully, I was like you a few weeks ago, I am familiar with the Bible as I grew up in a Catholic family and attended Catholic schools but aside from the usual lessons from Religion and Theology classes, I have no idea what was written in the Bible. Of course, I know of the birth of Jesus Christ (Christmas) and His sufferings to save to the world (Holy Week) and the beginning of the world (First there was darkness...)and the temptation of the snake and Eve and Adam's sin, you know, the usual stuff, but more than, I really knew nothing. But just last week, I was encouraged by my husband and of course by God to finally read and understand His words through the bible. I am just starting so I can't go preaching about what was written but I do believe that whatever is happening around us at the moment is our own doing, we have been so focus with the future, development, with ourselves, that we have forgotten about the world that God has given us to live and take care of. We had done so much damage to Mother Nature already and yet more people are incessantly doing her a crime everyday, maybe it is her (nature) way of ultimately saving us from killing our own species. Just my two cents...

Hi Marctiu, I think the next date fated to to be the end of the world is 12th December 2012 as predicted by the Mayans and someone else, not sure who though as I read that in the newspaper and then forgot lol. But yea, I don't really believe in the end of the world stuff. When something comes on TV that is about disasters and way the world can be destroyed I watch, but I don't usually believe since there are so many! In fact it is probably a miracle we are still here considering all the destruction events of the past lol When it comes to the bible specifically I am an atheist. I am interested in the history of humanity, the evolution of its ideas and beliefs, and its psychology, and from that I don't believe in Christian beliefs, or the beliefs of modern religions since I know where they came from. But I don't begrudge those who hold those beliefs since my grandparent's are very religious people and I was largely raised by them in their religion, but if they were to say the bible predicted the world's end I wouldn't pay them notice. I would ask them more to find out why they think that, but I wouldn't start worrying about the end of the world and judgement! I think that if humanity is destroyed it will be because the Earth is sick of us and decided to get rid of us through something like a super volcano, the loss of the magnetosphere, or maybe even a meteor(or all 3 in which case we could have Armageddon!) I am not sure when it could happen, though all the programs aired that are about those things say we are due for any of those big events, so maybe it will be 2012, I guess we shall find out then. Pay it no heed though and just make sure to enjoy this life so that whenever you die you have no regrets. That is how I live All the best, Dranz

Hello. This is really the first time I heard about the December 12, 2012. I have seen the trailer of the movie. I guess that it is somewhat related. I respect your beliefs and practice. Well, I don't think that we should be really scared of this end of the world thing because this will really happen and no one can tell what will happen great tsunami perhaps or Armageddon or even great flood. My guess is that the end of the world will be related to the global warming. Well, that's just a guess. Well, thanks for the response. Really appreciate the effort. Have a nice day. Happy mylotting.

I actually do believe it might come to an end, but I really don't know. Only God has the answer to that one. In Revelation it says that there will be war among friends (also one country against the other) Also that the anti-christ will actually try to make on country all over the world. But yeah I'm prepared for that because I have Jesus in my heart and I know he will take care of me.
