jacobsguardian I am a big crier during movies. Sometimes I even cry watching TV shows. Some people say I am a glutton for punishment, because I like to watch these "tear-jerkers", but I just enjoy the human aspect of it.

jacobsguardian I agree with you. We try to make our kids accountable for their own work, and we encourage them to be self-sufficient in that respect, but I may have to alter my standing on that, at least in regards to this. Thanks for the tips.

If you go to a restaurant and the food isn't cooked the way you ordered it, do you send it back? Does anyone think they've ever had their food messed with when they sent it back? Any horror stories?

jacobsguardian I'm with you on that. Most of the time I just try to live with it and eat it, both because I don't want to bother people, but also because I don't want anyone to spit in my food!

jacobsguardian The reward system is a good idea. A promise to take him to Chuck E. Cheese will probably get him on the right track. Thanks for the suggestion.

jacobsguardian He's 8, and he always does his homework as soon as he gets home from school. He has a student planner that he is supposed to write things down it, but even with constant reminders from the teacher, he stills doesn't do it then uses the excuse "I forgot"....

jacobsguardian I think if the parent can provide a valid doctor's excuse then maybe it shouldn't count towards their personal time off. But, by the same token, I don't think parents should get extra days just because they have kids.
