Hi Anjali!
Thanks for sharing such a useful information. I also read that Eucalyptus oil is useful in cold. I'm not aware how much it costs and where can this be found in market, easily. I think inhaling 'steam' is also one of the safest, easiest and chepest of remedies to cope up with day to day allergies. Even otherwise, steaming helps us opening pores on our face and helps cleanse our nasal cavity.

yes steaming is very good for cold and face to open pores. but it will give more benefit if we add essential oils in boil water and infale aroma. In general common cold could be cathed by people those have weak lungs, as they are not handle to fight with the common becteria.

That is really very good that you will try them but make sure you use them in small quantity and if your husband is haveing diabities and any kind of liver problem then it is better to avoid using essential oils. at the same time you can also use the mix of all essential oils that i have mentioned in my discussion above each one drop of other essention oil and 3 drops of "Eucalyptus" then use what ever method you wanted to apply.

I very much believe in and use many essential oils. Have you ever used Oil of Oregano? We take it daily as an immune builder which helps to ward off bad germs. I'm here to tell you it works! You do need to buy a good, pure, product and as is suggested take about 4 drops each morning. It has a bit of a bite but follow it with a small glass of juice like tomato and there's no problem. I personally had a weird cold like thing several weeks ago but it left my body within 4 days! Wow! We (my husband and I) have taken vitamin supplements for years so that helps too but this seems to be almost like a magic bullet.
