Currently, I am learning any new languages, but I do hope I can learn Cantonese.

Yes. Cantonese has 9 tones rather than 4 tones and is more closer to Ancient Chinese. it sounds softer than mandarin spoken in northern China. Taiwanese speak mandarin in another accent.
I can speak both Mandarin and Cantonese well.
I feel sad to see the population speaking Cantonese is decreasing rapidly.
Cantonese is forbidden to be taught in Mainland China. Students must use mandarin in school.
And with more and more immigrants from non-cantonese area flood into pearl delta, cantonese is put into a very difficult or embarrassing area. The city Canton are more like a mandarin city now. That's bad for me personally. I like to listenning Cantonese.

I speak English and Spanish both at home and at work. I'm still learning the Spanish but consider myself to be fluent enough to carry on a conversation. I know a bit of German but not enough to talk to anybody. More just the basics of "Where is the bathroom" and "Help me! I'm lost!" lol. Not trying to learn another one at the moment but am considering Mandarin or another of the Chinese languages. Here in Argentina where I live, there are a LOT of Chinese people. That's why I'm considering learning it. Seems a bit daunting though with all the characters!

Ah.. Spanish would be my language goal to learn. In the U.S, 30% of the time if you're a worker and you respond to people's queries, the queries are by spanish-speaking people. I would like to learn Spanish so I could respond to people in their language. Right now I'm fluent in French and English. Should've taken Spanish classes in high school instead of French, but it's too late now.

I love languages and am fluent in English and German. I also speak enough French and Spanish to get around.
I use languages at work, not neccessarily because I have to, but because it makes life easier and it helps building strong relationships with colleagues in other countries.
I am currently on a course refreshing my Spanish. Maybe next year I'll start learning a brand new language again.
