Will you upgrade to Windows 7/Snow Leopard?

Right now, I think the OS companies are sort of stagnating. Snow Leopard is a refinement of Leopard and Windows 7 is also a rehash of Vista(which actually runs equally well on my laptop, contrary to what people say - I have both in dual boot, Vista and Windows 7RC1). I have to say Snow Leopard looks attractive at $30 upgrade for the mac owners. I think I am fine with Vista and probably will not upgrade in the near future. What about you, are you planning on upgrading your OS?

i've already got the windows 7 trial, and i've been using the betas and rc's for ever, i hate mac with a passion, they are over priced pieces of garbage. some one gave me a mac once and it was like, here, you throw this away. they just suck big nasty unwashed balls. i will always be a pc lover, and there is nothing that mac can ever do to change that, even if their computers were free, i would still be a pc person. and the new features in windows 7 are incredible. they completely fixed software compatibility, and virtual apps is one of the greatest ideas since the invention of the mouse. in fact, i have noticed a huge change in speed and performance. Its the crisp clean interface of vista, with the power, performance, and stability of windows xp. And you get a free copy of windows XP, you have to run it virtually, but its free and its xp, every one loves xp. but in all actuallity, if you can afford a mac, but $300 for windows 7 is to much for you, you shouldn't have bought the $1000 mac.

Well, BSD looks quite like Linux (I guess it is based on the same foundation). Maybe I will give it a try.

My laptop was purchased after the first of this year, and of courxe it has vista on it. I am not sure if I will get windows 7 or not, but if it is better than vista, then it might be worth it. I think I would get a new computer with it alrady on it. I have a Gateway laptop, and not sure I can put a different OS on it. I don't want to risk it and something happening to it. I am used to vista, so I will probably just keep it for now. I think when new operating systems come out, they usually have glitches in them, and they cause problems, so I might wait until it has been out awhile beoore I think about it. Take care, and happy mylotting.

I am using an Acer laptop (Actually Acer is actually 3 companies rolled into one - Gateway, Acer and e-Machines). I tried Windows 7RC1 and all drivers worked out of the box except for some special buttons (which really aren't needed). Since Acer and Gateway have almost identical hardware, I don't really see much of a problem...You can upgrade if you get a good deal...

No, I will always use windows Xp until 2012,Because xp is more strong than windows 7.I have use xp 7 years. Windows 7 also is a good os, because it is new system, maybe it's not steady, SO i think windows xp is your good choice.

You guys can always try Win7 in dual boot and see if it works out...The new system is quite nice and good if you have newer hardware...

Oh, get of that stupid Windows computer and come get a mac. Snow Leopard has many more features than Leopard and runs about twice while fast taking up half the disk space! (6GB OMG!) I'm definitely going to upgrade. Oh, and you can upgrade from only $10 if you bought a new mac with Leopard right before Snow Leopard was released.

Would love to but can't. Macs are too expensive and I don't have that kind of cash. I hear there is a price drop coming soon...(Prays it falls within price range)

As of now, I have no plans of upgrading to windows 7, I am very much satisfied with my xp, all my fave programs/games are running smoothly, all my peripherals including my old printer/scanner has no issues and I don't want headaches so I guess i will stick with XP maybe for a while. same with my Mac, I guess I still have to wait before I upgrade to snow since I read that there are still some sofware incompatibility issue with the ones I currently have in leopard.
