I know there are all sorts of ways to pray. I am interested in your favorite form of prayer.
Mine would be sitting alone in church in silence, sometimes it feels like he just comes right there next to me and sits down with me. Another form I really enjoy is singing worship songs. St. Augustine once said that "Singing is like praying twice."

I pray whenever i have a moment, in the car, at home, in the bath etc. Its what makes me feel close to god, that he is with me wherever. At church i feel we are too caught up in politics and dogma to really comune with what is inside us. Going to beauty spots also helps, I drive round the country and if i am somewhere pretty i pray to god to that him for that beauty.

I agree nature and it's beauty can keep us in close contact with God.

Indeed, he created it all, by whatever means you believe, and sometimes the city and the pace of life hides that from us!

Matthew 6:5-8
5 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of t he streets, they they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
8 Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.

I pray whenever I can in my thoughts as the Word of God commands in 1 Thessalonians (and in several other places in the bible)1 Thessalonians 5:17 pray without ceasing. Yet I prefer to pray in a secret place. I would love to take a trip and have some prayer in the mountains fasting and praying in the wilderness that is my favorite place to pray.

Sounds lovely. Kind of similar to when we as Catholics sit and recite all the prayers related to our rosary.

I have always hard a hard time with repetive prayer....because I know the words by heart, my mind starts to wander rather quickly, and the words just become a set of rehearsed mumble jumble.
When I met my dear friend, Jesus, I found I was more comfortable talking to him, like I would a friend. I tell him everything as I would a best friend....I tell him when I am angry, sad, or happy. Then when I realize that I have gone on too long, and haven't even given my friend a chance to speak, I remain quiet for a little while, waiting for his guidance and teachings that he wants to give me. I find it very peaceful, to sit in a comfortable chair, and mentally focus on a picture of my best friend, (I usually visualize him sitting on a rock with all his children around him), and just repeat "thank you, Jesus". It is usually at that time when I get one of his messages. The church don't always agree with this kind of prayer - they tend to think of it as meditation, and fear the evil that meditation allows in (bogus), but it's more like centuring prayer. My motto is: Pray with all your might, but don't forget to stop and listen for the clues.

Actually our priest tells us to do exactly what you do as one of the ways to pray. He tells us that silent prayer is a very powerful form of prayer.

...Hi there pattiurlvd, I wouldn't say its my favorite form of prayer, but it's what I do most of the time, and that is to speak directly to the Lord out loud. Since for most of the time, I am by myself, that does not pose a problem. When I am in the company of others, I just talk silently in my mine and say what I have to say or ask what I need to ask. As long as I feel I am in contact with Him, I am content, whatever is going on. Take it easy.

Prayer is the one way in which one can make thier mind free from all tensions. I am intrested to pray inside my heart as it makes the person cool by chanting the prayer inside and also it helps the person to develop calmness and makes a good impression....

All forms of prayer have such beauty that it seems impossible to single one particular form out. For myself, I prefer to pray in free verse and affirmations. Songs of faith are so profoundly moving; as I listen I am lead to a spiritual celebration where I connect to the divine power that governs the universe entire.

I like to pray when I am at home and alone in the room that I am praying in. I say two prayers and then ask him to forgive me and others for our sins.

The most I like it when praying is praying in the middle of the night where everybody was fast asleep. Praying at middle of the night I felt just me and God

I have no favorite form of prayer. I pray most of the time sitting, standing, lying down, walking, working or when I just feel a need to prayer. My mind and heart sing praises and worship songs to God, our Saviour to thank Him all times of our lives.

our regular prayer every night is praying the rosary. it may be the regular thing but not really my favorite. like u, i just sit silently inside the adoration chapel where it is so quiet (a small place built by some churches especially for adoration; so quiet and holy) and talk to him in my mind. just talking silently to Him and feeling His presence is my way of communication with Him.

I imagine myself achieving my hopes and dreams and I imagine a world that is in perfect harmony. I use positive visualization to foster whatever needs praying on. At night, before bed, I write in my Grateful Journal. This is a place for me to write about what I am thankful for and what I will be thankful for in the future. I feel like this allows me to live in a pretty positive lifestyle. I truly feel like my mind is the first place for good things to happen. If I can envision what I want, it can then be completed.

My pray has it own rule, I just follow the 5times pray a day. Aside that, I can improve by saying in my heart or in my mouth prays to God and prophet Muhammad a big thanks. Always remember Him, during doing activities except when I'm in bathroom.

Praying in silence works best for me. I can feel his presence and feel his comfort. Also, when you are alone, you can pout out your heart out without being distracted of other's activities. That way, all praises and plea are raise accordingly. I believe that it does not matter if anyone knows if you are prayerful or not. Because at the end, HE is the one who knows what we really are.

My favorite form of prayer is a prayer with no form. It is the prayer that comes from inside my heart. I usually pray like I am talking to my family, you know, like I am talking to another living person. One day I sprained my wrist really bad and could not move it. I accidentally fell on it one day which made it way worse :( The following night I prayed to God the way I do and the next morning I had no pain at all in my wrist. :)
