My started flick a lot from past two days. The color of the screen changes to yellow. When i shake the cable of my monitor, the screen some times works fine. I am using CRT monitor.
Some times it takes time to switch on. When i monitored closely i came to know that if there is cold weather or heavy rain days my monitor not works. Some sound comes. After 5 or 10 minutes my monitor switches on. Please help me to troubleshoot the errors.

I have several experience regarding switching colors on monitors, usually the problem is on the pins in the connector of the monitor cable, check the pins if there is rust or corosion then just clean it if there is, also try to reinsert it and make sure the thumb screws are tight.Worst case is there is a loose wire inside the cable and you have to replace the whole cable.

Hi k4karthik,
i also had the same problem with my monitor and you can see i started another discussion for myself regarding what monitor i can buy as my monitor had the same problem. Initially i had the monitor cable that goes into the back of the pc bent and cable was a little cut which made me cause this problem. I replaced the monitor cable but still no use . When i took it to a service centre the monitor picture tube had gone bad. I advice you to change the whole monitor as using an already outdated monitor( i think) would still cause your health to go bad. And also, please comment in my other discussion regarding the monitor. It will help me.

This kind of problem happens when there is a problem at terminal connectors or cables. Please check your cable and terminal points at the end of monitor cable where they connects at sockets. If you find there is no issues, then you have to consult your monitor specialist technician to solve this problem.

You can't really do much of troubleshooting with monitors. They don't have a software installed that we can tweak. I suggest that you take it to a technician or service center. A big possibility is that you can only bring further damage to it if you do something to it.
