Why can't I keep my eyes open?

For the past few weeks I can't seem to stay awake especially in the earlier parts of the day. I get up with my kids at 7 and I swear with in the hour I am on the couch trying to keep myself awake and I can't. My eyes always feel so heavy, I have been getting enough sleep but it never feels like I am. It is 12:30p here now and all I can think about is laying down and trying to nap but my kids will be here in 2 1/2 hours and I have stuff I need to finish before they get here and my son also has a doctors appointment that I need to take him to once her gets here from school so I feel there isn't enough time but I would sure like to. I think it might be the weather, when the weather starts to get colder my family tends to hibernate and I think my body/mind might be taking that phrase to the extreme the past few weeks. I guess I should get up and do something to wake myself up a bit. So how about you has the colder weather taking its toll on you?

I think you should get enough sleep. But before that, for a permanent solution on this problem, visit your doctor. Along with the medication, you could start meditating for 20-30 mins before going to bed. If not the medication, the meditation will help for sure.

hello froggieslover, You maybe youre body prefer to rest a little bit more since you have to do those things, but i guess you might have a problem waking up once you actually sleep. or just like the other mylotter said that you have low sugar, since you're going to the doctor to have your son checked up, maybe you should do the same for yourself in one day. if it's really cold out there in your neighborhood, then it's probably normal.Im sleeping in the afternoon when ever there's strong rain.

Well, it could be the weather that is making you more tired, as sometimes when the weather is a little more cooler and damper some days I tend to sleep a little more as well. But then it could also be something going on in your body Health wise making you want to sleep more as well. Personally if I were you, and if you can afford it, it might be worth getting some Blood work done to see if it is something there as well. Either way hope you can find what seems to work the Best for you as well.

I agree that we all need certain levels of sleep. Uninterrupted sleep that is. I always feel like I could sleep all day if I've slept late or I haven't done anything to really wake me up. today for example I awoke at 5am, got a shower, went to class 7-11 and then worked 12-10. Granted I am drained, but not nearly half as bad as I feel I am when I sleep in until 9 or 10 am. I feel like my whole day is wasted and that I am sleepy the whole day because of it.

good amount of sleep is essentially required for a healthy life..but the amount of sleep varies according to the weather, physical, activity, body tiredness, biological processes etc.. For the students they need to sleep the least hours and to read more, the persons who do lot of physical activity suffer from body tiredness and go to sleep early,in cold weather awaking or late night is too difficult.. During this cold weather i am very tensed as a student i must read but i am unable to do so ..i have morning school and i miss often because i cannot get up early...

It could be that you're using up too much energy for the rest you are actually getting. You should take about three days and do nothing but sleep and then try to regulate your waking and working hours in a more restful way for you. After a while the need for rest does back up and I've had times when I slept for 15 hours at a time in my heavy working days.

I think maybe recenly you have too much work ,or recently you are so tired ,I have same feeling with you before. when I tried ,I found I awlays like the sleep and I don't want to open eyes in the morning ,in here ,we called reduce the sleep .so I think you don't should pay attention to this ,you shoudl relex .don't worried ,I think you 'll come back normal later .don't worried

Hi froggie Oh yes this weather is doing some damage on my part of the mind. It is telling me to just slow down and be lazy. I too have to fight it. I heard some where that some people get what is called seasonal depression so maybe that is what's happening to us. Another thing is that maybe you are not getting enough protein in your body. I had a gym instructer tell me that once. Try to add some extra protein in your diet. Have a great day froggie and hope that you get to feeling better. Keep smiling.

the weather condition might be a factor. it is really good to snuggle in bed with cold weather. what i do if i really feel sleepy? i step into the shower and it really wakes me up after doing it. maybe u need something else to boost ur energy level. try to begin simple exercises at home or better yet, indulge in any sports activity u like. might also be that ur sugar level has risen up? as this has been the way for the past few weeks, u might consider going to the doctor for professional advice.

the best thing anybody would want to do in cold weather is to snuggle inside a blanket and sleep comfortable on bed...this is exactly what you are feeling too.if you sleep for at least 7 hours comfortable and properly you may not feel this tired and worn out.try doing some exercises to remain healthy..have a good time..happy mylotting

Well me its not the cold that makes me go to sleep its just the weather. If its sunny I can sleep 6-7 hours and ready for the day if its rainy than I need to sleep longer. During winter there isn't as much sunny days as in summer but sometimes just watching the snow fall makes me want to get up. That's the way my body works for a long time now!

I know what you are saying when it is cold you just want to stay under the covers and keep warm and toasty not get up and rush around to do things. I think it is just that time of year where we are already looking forward to summer and the sun. Never mind won't be long before it comes back again. Enjoy your weekend.
