What was the most shocking piece of news you ever got ?

[Many persons will say the death of Michael Jackson or some other celibrity .Others may say death of a relative and still will have a range of responses. I am interested to know what is ,what you were doing and your response to this bit of news

The most shocking news I got was when I was younger my dad worked in door and window installation and he had to cut some wood to even up the door. And the saw fell on his leg and cut his hole foot off. Luckily I was with him to see all the blood but he had to stay 5 months in the hospital. I was really shocked, in my mind I thought that he wouldn't have a foot anymore, but his foot attached to his leg and everything was good.

The worst piece of new sI ever got was when after having an accident I heard the doctor saying I had 3 hours live!! That will be four years ago on Oct 17th so as you can see I am still here but the news scared to bejeezus out of me.

Wow that is really scary but I am happy that that wasnt true ,it just goes to show that we cant always believe whole heartedlyin doctors pronouncement .Thank you for responding

Hmmmm...well I was 15 in June when my mom said she was going to have another baby...and the baby was due the last week of Sept. It was better news at the time than what the drs had been telling her - that she had cancer which she doesnt. 9 months after my sister was born...more shcoking news my baby sister was diagnosed with cancer. Born with it actually - so when mom was pregnant and they told her she had cancer it was actually my sister she was pregnant with that had cancer.
