How could we get less abortions to happen?

I think that in the world we could make sure everybody knows how to use birth control and that no form of it is 100% effective. I think that in the world we should show teenager diagrams of the fetus at different stages of pregnancy. All teenagers should watch a movie called The Silent Scream. I think England should have its 24 weeks limit reduced to 12 weeks. I think that adoption should become easier and more popular. Would you like to have far less abortions happen in the world? If so how would you like this to happen?

I think the abortion is the free choice. I think nobody will really want to have the abortion. They have to choose it because of many reasons. I think they do it unwillingly. So perhaps we shall be much more considerate to them and understand it. As to the young people, I think the education is very important. They have to be taught how to protect themselves and avoid pregnancy when they are not ready. The abortion is the last choice and it is heartbreaking. I love China

Hello my friend You less. Yes, "abortion is the last chance and it is heartbreaking". I feel sorry for the innocent little babies that are aborted. I hope that young people will be educated how to protect themselves. I would love to visit China one day.

I think concerned government agencies should conduct a consistent massive information campaigns about the ill effects of abortion and a strong political will to implement laws against it. Sadly, in many countries of the world, certain groups are making noises about this when there are celebrated cases of abortion in medias then the enthusiasm wanes. Goverments must be consistent and not just merely a flash in the pan approach. have a nice time maximax!

I like the idea of much information being available to show abortion in a poor light. All people should be able to see how abortions are done. They could be told about post abortion depression. Thanks for your wonderful response.

I quite agree with the idea that birth control should be taught to all. I have not watched Silent Scream, but it must be of great use. What does it mean to limit 24 weeks to 12 weeks. For India I am quite at a loss for ideas. I think abortion is absolutely not right. That's what I feel about it. Of course it's the rich who do that more often than the poor. But the poor can't afford abortion so they give birth to many kids. The poor can't even afford OCP, and they can't afford to go to the city to get surgery done. Even if one thinks of getting it done, it becomes so tedious because of corruption. The govt gives incentive to those who get it done, yet the official often are corrupt so that they charge money from these poor people instead of giving govt's money to them.

I am sorry I did not make myself very clear. When I say incentive I mean to say that the govt gives incentive to those poor people who'd like to go for tubectomy. However, because of the corruption the money don't go to the poor all the time. Govt does not provide money for abortion.

I England abortions are allowed up to 24 weeks pregnancy. In many other European Countries abortions are allowed up to 12 weeks pregnancy. It is a shame that rich Indians can have abortions. It is awful that the Indian Government gives incentives. Thanks for your interesting response.

Yes I like to have far less abortions happen in the world. After taking precaution if any woman get pregnant she should not abort her baby. Abortion is like killing of a life.We have no right to kill a life. If couples take birth control measures pregnancy could be avoided easily.

Thanks for your wonderful response. I don't agree with ladies having abortions. Sometimes birth control fails and a lady on it can get pregnant. It would be so very good if less abortions took place in the world.

i think it would very difficult to reduce abortions, people know about birth control but choose not to use it,we can't change that,as for lowering the limit how would that affect the people that are to scared to tell someone they are pregnant until they start to show,or for people that don't find out they are pregnant til they are in their 3rd or 4th month, sometimes later,,i think that all teenage girls should have the implant, which would at least stop unwanted teen pregnancies

Hello Door Mouse. So some people don't find out they are pregnant until 12 to 16 weeks pregnancy when they start to show. In that case each female over 14 years old could be given twelve free home pregnancy tests each year. It is a great idea that teenage girls are given the chance to have birth control.

Hello Classy Cat. Yes, each student was given a doll that acted just like a baby. That was excellent because first hand experiences really teach. The health service think sterilizing is a big step and they don't carry it out all that lightly. Thanks for sharing your valuable ideas.

Hi maximax, I feel abortion is wrong. It is killing a helpless person. Who knows whether that person would have discovered cure for any cancer or alzhiemers. I dont like the idea of killing children in that stage at all! And I am very very sure about it. There are, of course, circumstances such as the child having some congenital defect, or conceived at the the time of rape, when I think it is ok. But as far as the rest of conditions go. No abortions. Birth pills went wrong, fine - have a child, give for adoption if u cant I think adoption laws should be changed for the better. We cant let children grow up in those institutions, and turn out to be people who are maladjusted. No - they need to know what is home, and experience love. So adoption laws should change. However, not in my country. In my country - I'd call for a law - one woman one child, if u want another, go and adopt. As simple as that. I do think we are causing food crisis in the world.

Thanks for your wonderful response. I think that adoption laws across the world could become much easier. If adoption became more popular and it was easier to adopt few children would be left in orphanages. I feel sorry for any lady that is raped. I like your idea of each lady in your home country having a child of her own and then adopting another child.

I think the thing to do is just do away with abortion. I wouldn't know how to do this, though. I agree with you 100% on this! Kathy.

I do think that there are alot of people who get terminations as they are so easy to have one.I think there are certain times that some people should be able to get an abortion with women being raped where as i think that is totally understandable.Yes i do think 12 weeks is ok,but i think that at 24 weeks the baby has formed and by then i think that alot of people could have of had a abortion alot earlier on.

Perhaps it should become more difficult to get an abortion for social reasons but it could be allowed to rape victims and if the mother's life is in danger. It is shame that abortions are allowed up to 24 weeks in England. Thanks for your valuable response.

Abortions can obly be reduced if people are more responsible of their actions. They make someone pregnant, they should bring up the baby. No amount of videos, pictures or graphical images of fetuses is going to wake people up as long as they don't want to be responsible. That's my thought.

I wish everybody was responsible but sadly some people are not. I suggest education helps people learn the difference between right and wrong. People should see pictures showing 100 people and a certain number pregnant for every type of birth control. Thanks for your superb response.

hey maximax, i don't agree with you.i think abortion is a free choice.. all the girls does have the right to lead a life of their dreams..and this would not be possible if she has a baby.it will only make it hard for the girl and the child.world has a growing population and i don't think abortion is a very bad option for those who cannot manage to keep a baby..

hi there, I am pro life, but i also respect those who preferred abortion because we know that there are various reasons why some people do it, i know you will agree with me on this? However, i believe that to prevent abortion, we must educate the youngster. Education will play a very great role if we want to lessen the number or abortions every minute.

No. Abortions are fine. Now, I'm not perpetually impregnating women to make them get abortions; but ... abortions are fine.
