Responding to The People Who Responded to Your Discussion..

I really have the habit of responding to all those comments that I have received in mylot.
Some people would think that it is too time consuming to respond to each and ever single
comment made from your post.. But I do not think that way.. As a thank you and respect
for those people who made an effort to respond to my posts.. I even find it rude if a
I would not respond to a post made on my discussion..
Through that I make sure that my notifications are always on.. That way, I can easily
track the responses either on my own discussion or on the post I made to another
mylotter..
How about you, do you even respond to those people who responded to your posts?
I found it very significant, and today, I managed to get 35 responses to one of my posts
and it even took me 2 hours to respond to all of them LOL!
Anyway, I would just like to know others' thoughts about this..

I do not start many discussions, but when i do i respond to all the responses that i get. I think that it is not only good for your earnings, but it shows that you care about your discussions, and it shows that you have read everybody's replies.

You have actually caught my point! :D Yeah, I do not start that much posts as well, but
whenever I do, I make sure that I respond to each and everyone.. :D Just like what
I am doing today.. And it would not just contribute to earnings, but with socializing
and getting to know other people as well.. It's really fun to converse with other people
most especially if you know that you are sharing the same interest..

Same here, I don't start many discussions, but when I do I try to read and respond to each post.
I think it is rude to start a discussion and not answer ANY post. I have seen way too much of that.
Makes me wonder why they even stated the "discussion" in the first place. I will normally not post in a thread that the originator has not bothered to respond in.

I quite agree. It is rude if you don't respond to contributors, especially if you were the one who started the discussion! I like to stay away from such discussions as well. I find commenting, when I know I won't receive a response (or maybe even a read!), is a waste of time.

I don't find this unusual, this is what Mylot was meant to be! Everyone here should do this, in a perfect world! LOL! I do this also, but to me if you get a lot of responses it gets to be boring, as you found out! This why I don't make a post, or hardly ever post any more I had one with 72 responses and that blew me away, this kind of formed my new approach here, which is mainly doing responses to the posts I find tdemex friendly! It pays just as well and it breaks up the time I spend here! tdemex

hello again amaine,
the way you posted your content in the discussion, I'd say this was copy paste from NOTEPAD, am i right?Lolz, i do that too when they're too many response to comment in my discussions to make it a bit faster and decrease time constraint. well, now am responding to your topics recently, frankly this is the first time i encountered you and am happy because i get to see a pinoy senior here in mylot. some times i prefer just ten to twenty response in my topic because if it's beyond that then it's hard to make time to respond to my friends topics.

Haha no no Letran.. :D LOL I don't know but I simply leave one space after the other
ahahaha.. Yeah I have noticed that you are responding to my topics that MUCH! :D
I have been inactive for the past few months, seems like I became a bit busy..
I understand, most pinoys tend to leave mylot.. During the days when I was just
starting here in mylot, there are lots of Filipino but actually do not know where
they are right now..

Yes I think that way too. I think we need to reply back the responses that was given to us on our discussions, just atleast maybe say you appreciated the effort. The same as you were joining any discussion of course sometimes you are expecting wether what the one who made the discussions could say about what you've said. But of course there are also times that their response is that they already end if up their, as if they don't want to get replies back then never mind maybe.
The last discussions I made just 22 responded but it took me a lot of time to reply all of them. I really did make an effort to just even say thank you for the effort they did.

Yeah, I even expect that when I respond to a discussion, I expect that I would get a
response in return.. I do not really rely on it anymore since there are very few people
here in mylot that cares about building relationships with others.. All that they have
in mind is earning.. I really do not have anything against that.. :D Just my point of
view..

Well I was once one of those that you were talking about they just care for the earnings... But I feel that it would be much nice if allong each discussions thier would be a normal conversations. Just like what people do in every life while conversing to others, there will be a back and forths of comments.

I agree. There's very few people on most websites that care about building friendships. Usually when someone joins a writing website that pays, they're there to do exactly that - get paid.
In my opinion, it's more fun and worth my time if I do make friends along the way. Yes, the earnings are nice, but being able to share thoughts and feelings with friends are a plus.

well thats cool, but frankly i do comment not everyone like you do and give best response as a when i get response from other user here, mostly i give my post to my friends here, i like to respond to my friends discussion rather than other discussions here,as they do response to my discussion i do likewise to them, and i try to respond others as well those who respond to my discussion.infact i like to repay people debt for what they do here for me.

I understand how exactly you feel.. I know.. I prioritize responding to my friends posts
first before I do respond to others.. Giving them a fair chance to hear what I have to
say.. :D And your mentality sounds really good. Thank you so much for sharing your
opinion.. I really appreciate it..

I think it is only polite to respond to member's posts. After all, they have made the effort to post so it is only right that an effort is made to reply to them.
However, I'm not too pleased when the response is a 'rubber stamp' type of reply such as 'Thank you for your response'. I feel that one deserves a bit more than that!

Spot on Bella. No wonder some members only respond to a small circle of friends because they know the response they will get will be good and to the point.
Do you think that members who are only here for the money stay that long?
I have encouraged over 2,000 to join Mylot and yet only a handfull are regular contributors. Is money everything to most people?

And here I thought I was the only one getting annoyed by that. If someone is going to take the times to give you their thoughts on the subject of whatever your discussion is about, don't they deserve more than just a general 'Thank you for your response'? Also, something else that I don't understand is the discussions where you can write two or three paragraphs as a response to a discussion, but the originator of the discussion gives absolutely no response. It kind of makes you wonder if they actually care about the discussion, or if they are only making the discussion for the sake of making money. I suppose we'll never know.

I comment back to all of them. I do it immediately if I have just posted the discussion and it might be later if it is a response which arrives at a later date.
I don't start many and I don't start them at all if I am not available to be able to comment back to the first ones that might arrive. It keeps the discussion lively and I see no point in starting one if I never get back to those who respond. I wouldn't behave like that offline and I see no difference online whatsoever.
I even get back and comment on comments that I receive on responses that I leave on discussions started by others. Seems only natural that if someone talks to me I talk back to them

If you are like I am, a chatterbox offline, then it is not difficult to be one online too and that is probably why we have no problems getting back and commenting over and over again
Of course a good internet connection also helps!

I like to respond to each and every person who responded to me though I think it would take a long time to go back and respond to those I had missed or skipped and forgot to go back to in the past. I would like to do this for benefit of my discussion and for earning money! I have goals here on mylot, but I do agree that responding, commenting and discussing back to everyone is just out of common courtesy, but it is fun as well.

Sometimes, it even takes week before I could respond to a discussion. The only time
that I can manage to do now, is during weekends.. ^_^ During weekdays I don't usually
hang out here in mylot that often that is why I sometimes leave some of the my
discussions that I have started unanswered. But I make sure that whenever I have the
time, I go about all the responses that I have received..

I'm pretty free to do mylotting at anytime. I'm looking into getting a full time job but they haven't called me back yet, still processing everything. Hopefully soon I will have that job, but I'll have nights and weekends off so then I can catch up on mylotting then.

To be honest, I don't always respond to people who respond to my discussions. And I don't really feel OK with just writing "Thanks for responding" though I did try to do that for some time. What I mostly do though is I check the profile of the person who responded to my topic and then I will look for interesting topics they started to respond to. I like it better that way.

that person's post most especially if it caught my attention.. I just do not simply
say, thanks for responding.. :D Anyway, each and everyone of us have their own opinion
about different things.. That is why we are sharing those opinion here in mylot.. :D

i think this is true..but think about one thing...say you have made responses to others discussion every day and you also start at least two or three discussion...then it will become tough to you to check every responses given to others discussion back to your response and also leave a response...and not only this..you have to give response to your own discussion also...so it become tougher at least for me to do all the things in limited time...

I agree! When someone replies to my comments, I feel like someone is actually listening to what I have to say! In a way, you start to feel special. Your reputation grows, as well, if you reply to your comments and give valuable feedback.

Actually it has been my hobby, to respond to all the responses in my discussion. You
are correct, it is a matter of giving respect to the responder. You are also given
an opportunity to give your point of view in his/ her response. You can say if you
agree or disagree with his / her responses. i also do that because we are being paid
in all the activities that we do here.So i tried to give my comment as possible.
I had one discussion that I got 85 responses and took me almost 2 days to respond to
all the responses.lolhappy mylotting!!

After reading a thread made by a known myLot user who suggested to respond to every response I get on my discussions I made a promise that I would indeed answer every single response I get! :D In my last long thread I got like 40 responses I think and it took some time to answer, but it is good for your popularity and you earn with every response, so why not answer on a subject you know well (since you started it :D) and make some money on the way ^^ (waiting for your response now! :) )

Wow, responding to 40 responses. Yeah, it would sure take some time to respond to
each and every single comments they made on your decision.. Somehow, yeah you started
the discussion but, sometimes (though we cannot avoid these) some people tend to
misinterpret your discussion and respond really something unusual
It's actually cool how you get to earn money and enjoy at the same time..
Oops, and earn new friends as well.. :D

Yeah I agree, I prefer discussions where you can carry on posting to different replies. This means you can have a couple of discussions going on in just one actual discussion board. I almost always respond to my responses when I find them as it is a direct response to you which you can give a reply to.

Hi amaine, just like you. I like adding comment to every response I have received in all my discussions. It doesn’t matter whether it’s a new or old discussion. I always try my best to take good care of all my discussions by replying the responders. It’s a great pleasure to read responses and comments in my or others’ discussions which I have participated as well. I believe the responders in my discussions do like it as well I suppose.
You are great amaine! I appreciate that you could manage to add comments on all the 35 response in only 2 hours I could hardly do it in a couple of hours to write such amount of comments. Firstly I don’t have much time sitting still in front of the pc. Secondly I’m rather sluggish in writing comment. So I usually would spend a few days to add all the comments. Due to this I seldom start new discussion
Have a nice day and happy posting!

You are most welcome amaine! It’s true that not everyone here is more than willing to leave comments in the responses received Yeah, adding comment or having continual chat is the best way to have mutual interaction here I like it! Of course we must have leisure time. So keep it up my dear!
Hopefully you don’t feel tired to burn all your time just replying to so many responses. It’s nice for young one like you to spend part of the beautiful weekend with loved ones or friends doing some favorite outdoor activities. so that you won’t feel tedious very fast with the posting here. Happy posting!

I do try to respond to each post, but sometimes, times does not allow it for me.
I do not like those who write books on mylot either.I think they should cut down the size of their discussion and make it easier for all to read.
I have been gone for a few days , moving and found it nice to be back on mylot and reading the new responses.
Thanks for allowing me to respond.

thank you for welcoming me back:)
I think mylot is one of the best sites I belong to. I am a member of several P T R sites and they do pay but not as good as mylot does.
I've Not been paid yet from mylot, but gettin close.
It's so nice to meet people like you who understand personal things do get in the way of responding sometimes.
I do not know how some do all the discussuions. I just don't have the time and what with moving it's been hard to even keep up with my personal emails !
And, most of my personal mails are friends I have made from mylot:)
I hope you are going to be one of my best friends too:)
Take care and let me hear from you.

I think responding to everyone's comments is a great tactic. Then, you get those people to keep coming back to your discussion and you actually have a conversation! That's what MyLot is all about - having conversations! I like to do the same thing. It _is_ very polite. You also get a sense of how friendly the community is if you do so. It might be time consuming, but I believe it's worth it. I also don't mind making friends along the way as a result of the conversations.
