every saint has a past, every sinner has a future!

This poem was sent to me by e-mail...I couldn't have said it any better...
Just going to church doesn't make you a Christian any more than standing in your garage makes you a car .
What do you think!
JUDGE NOT!I was shocked, confused, bewildered
As I entered Heaven's door,
Not by the beauty of it all,
Nor the lights or its decor.
But it was the folks in Heaven
Who made me sputter and gasp--
The thieves, the liars, the sinners,
The alcoholics and the trash.
There stood the kid from seventh grade
Who swiped my lunch money twice.
Next to him was my old neighbour
Who never said anything nice.
Herb, who I always thought
Was rotting away in hell,
Was sitting pretty on cloud nine,
Looking incredibly well.
I nudged Jesus, 'What's the deal?
I would love to hear Your take.
How'd all these sinners get up here?
God must've made a mistake.
'And why is everyone so quiet,
So sombre - give me a clue.'
'Hush, child,' He said, 'they're all in shock.
No one thought they'd be seeing you!

It does not seem like a poem. It is a joke.
Don't try to find meaning in it and fool yourself.

Forgot to mention - A saint has a good future and a sinner has a bad future.

I feel sorry for you that you cannot see the meaning behind this.
It is to not judge others, because you have no idea what is in the hearts and minds of other people...only God Knows. God sees the good in everyone, and we should never underestimate the mercy of God.
And remember, Saints were sinners at one time, who turned to God...therefore there is hope for all sinners who repent in their life time, which is what this means also.

Yes that's pretty good! I liked it, and have to say it's very true!

Love this. Judge not is the best policy for human to human relationships. So many of our transgressions are so far reaching and there is no way to tell the results. Something you think you really screwed up can instead make you a hero, no one including you can foretell the future.

Yes, I couldn't have written a better poem than this. It is something I show many people, when they start quickly judging.

Hi Sweetchariot,
It beautifully tells us that God accepts everyone to His kingdom. He doesn't discriminate and makes harsh judgments, even when man has fallen and proven not worthy of His trust. He treats everyone fairly - sinner or saint. Those who thought they've been good all their life on earth will be surprised when judgment day comes - because committing a sin does not only mean doing bad things(what we have done) but also means not doing good things (what we have failed to do). That's why the person in the poem was surprised to find himself in the company of hardcore sinners - maybe he didn't do any crime but he also failed to do good things the God expected him to do like helping the needy, sharing what he has in abundance, or even forgiving those who have hurt him.

You are absolutely right. Those who think they are living the perfect Christian life, may be ultimately surprized.

The poem only illustrates that God came to earth to save us sinners from hell and to give us abundant life and eternal life if we obey His holy words. He was crucified and gave His life for us sinners so that we can approach and know God according to His will.

Yes, He did! and therefore, we are not in position to know the salvation of anyone but ourselves...only God knows...therefore we need to be careful on whom we believe will be saved, because we will certainly be surprized when we meet those whom God showered his mercy on.
