Just wondering why Nokia mobile phones are so popular when compared with say Motorolo or LG. In some phones which offer a features which are not available with Nokia, even then there is not much demand for these phones and it is only Nokia which rules the mobile phone market. What is your views on this.?

hello friend, I tried several brands of mobile phones,Motorolla,Samsung,Erickson and Nokia, one thing i noticed with Nokia is that,it is very easy to use. The features were so friendly that we don't need to read the manual instructions before we were able to use it. That is why, until now..Nokia is the number brand when it comes to handy phones.

Just one small doubt, did you name yourself jaiho, after the song in the film 'slum dog millinoire'.Why I am asking this is, because the music composer of Jaiho is from my home town, Chennai.

Nokia is the best i can tell. They provide with the best quality at the reasonable price that none can resist. The best thing that i like in Nokia is about its functions its very user friendly, always need not to worry about the keys and other related things about it. It also provides durability.

You are right on one point shankarbaddi, Nokia is one of the best user friendly phone in the world. Regarding the price, L.G.,Sony Erricson and Samsung are quite cheap when compared with Nokia with more and better features. Thanks for the response.

I have only recently bought into the Nokia craze because I bough a low end nokia phone and I think I see why NOKIA has the kind of foothold that it has and believe it is quite popular here .Nokia is known for its monopoly of cheap but durable phones with certain basic but innovative features .My Nokia is quite good for such a low end phone. Now that I have a Nokia dont think I can go elsewhere ...well except Motorolla offcourse lol

HI Rameshkumaar, I have been using Nokia handphone for so long and it is my favourite handphone. I have tried on other brands, but just found that they are not user-friendly and so hard for me to get use to it. As for Nokia, I just need about a week time and I can easily learn all the new functions at my handphone. Currently, I am using Nokia N 76,not a new model anymore in the market. I got it two years back. The only thing I don't like about this N76 is that I can't change the handphone casing. The functions are quite user-friendly and have lot games for me to play.

I certainly have to agree that Nokia is the most user friendly phone available in the world. So not thinking of changing your phone for a new piece.

I think nokia got the first base on producing gsm phones, in fact they were one of the key developers of GSM, it's better voice quality and services like sms popularized the use of cellphones.

I have Nokia N70! It's an okay phone, but I would like a new phone. With better functions, faster processor speed and probably not Nokia phone. I'm kinda disappointed at them.

First, I am not a Nokia fan or user. But one thing I do know why this brand is so popular here where I live is because during the time that cellphones were introduced, Nokia was one of the brands that had fashionable phones. My first phone was a Nokia, so was my second one. But I switched to another brand name that suited me with its features because I could not get my Nokia phone and laptops to become compatible for internet use. No matter how many downloads I made, I could not connect to the internet.

Even I had the same problems with Nokia, and I was not able to connect it to my laptop. Nowdays I use ASUS smart phone, which is quite good. Of course now days, the mordern Nokia phones do not have that problem. Thanks for the response.

I prefer Nokia becoz of its quality and long lasting life. I remember that I once buyed a cell phone of other company and the cell did not last even for a year. After this incident I only trust branded cell phones especially that of Nokia as it had never let me down.

hi kumar I think the brand name nokia is enough in the field of cell phone. It is widely accepted whole world. There is no doubt about the durability & features provided by the company. It is very user friendly . The most important part of its battery back up, which makes the brand famous. pkc3000

The way thing are going, after a few years, the mobile phones will be known only as Nokia, some thing like a copier being called only as Xerox. Thanks for the response pkc3000.

One of the major affect is Nokia is the first company which has lots of models in attractive way compare to other mobiles. Coming to scientific way Nokia phones radiates less compared to other phones. If you wanna observe it try to talk with any motorolla or LG phones . They gets heated up if you are talking continuously for 15-20mins.

You are quite lucky. Nokia6300 was the last phone which I had bought on a Nokia brand. It gave me so much problems, that I had changed over to other mobiles. Thanks for the response.

Nokia is one of the oldest and realiable company of mobile phones from finland. they dont compromise with the quality what they give.. that is value for money. nokia battery is the major advantage. they are in big number , they are suggested by the users. they are in big numbers and due to that the softwares to be installed in them are general and easy to get. nokia is robust then other phones. as i have found some phones of other companies are more delicate than nokia.

In my country I predict about 70% people used nokia brand. Me personally use Nokia N82, and on my nokia many useful features, but with a price that not to expensive, but lately blackberry is on fire on my country, and there are so many promo for BB. And I think I want to try BB so I can compared which one better.
• India
26 Oct 09
Of course, nothing can be compared with BB.Since it has got a seperate, server, you can access you email immeditely. No other phone offers you that kind of email service. If you are sending a lot of emails, and if you are always on the move, BB is the phone you should have.My next change will be only a Blackberry.

Hi ramesh Well nokia i a quite famous and i know most people also like it, there is no reason why people don't like it, it has quality, good features and it is very much reliable, i like that quality about nokia they are reliable, well this doesn't mean it is way better than motorola or lg but once most people like nokia others follow as well, it's like someone has a nokia and the other after using it also begins to like it and goes and buys a nokia aswell, even most of us recommend others to buy nokia, another reason why most people buy nokia, and yeah some of the nokia phones have amazing battery life as well... many many reasons why people like nokia and don't try others... anyways have a nice day ramesh!

I have a LG Vu it's a touch phone, kinda like iphone but not quite that good, I can watch tv on it too, crystal clear, so I'm happy with it, never gets buggy if it ever freezes it shuts down an comes back on, but it's a rare occurence.
• India
26 Oct 09
Wow, So you can watch TV on the LG Vu. Great. In India, it is only with the Chinese phones we are able to watch TV programmes. You cannot watch TV, in any of the branded sets like Nokia, LG or Samsung etc. Thanks for the response.

I think Nokia is popular due to its easy menu system and reputation for reliability. I used to work for a mobile phone provider and we had far less problems with Nokia phones than any other make. The menu system was so easy and was very similar across the models. When people upgraded form one model to another they would be able to use it straight away without too many problems. I personally used samsung and have had my current phone for a number of years now and have had no problems.

26 Oct 09
You have given a very valid point. Yes when people upgrade, they are comfortable with the user friendliness of Nokia. Correct, I think this is also one of the reasons why Nokia is so popular. Thanks for the response.
