I'm making jewelry for all the females on my list this year. I buy the materials at WalMart where they're much cheaper than any craft shop. For the guys, I honestly have no idea what to make, other than food. Every year I make cookies, cakes and breads and give as gifts. I'll be doing that for everyone this year, too, but am stumped as to what to make the males. They tend to like electronic stuff and there's no way I could even attempt to make anything electronic! Maybe that's it: jewelry for the gals, food for the guys.

if you knit or crochet, you could make scarves or hats for the men!

You can get some straw or wicker baskets and put tissue paper in them to pack them out abit and put either soaps, bubble bath or shower gel in to do a basket arrangement or even put some miniture jars of jam and honey in them.Glass painted vases and glasses are great as you can pick up the vases as well as glass tumblers cheap as well as glass paint and put pictures or names on them.

A card Lol, is the thought that counts anyway LOL. First of all it is much better if you will make an effort to find out things that is useful for them. Like they can use for everyday like wallet, VCD or DVD, Kitchen ware, clothes, caps, even socks or neck ties. Me, I am planning to give my parents a supplement they can drink and it can help them to keep healthy. I will give vitamins to my siblings. You can save money if you give something very useful for them. It can save them too, because they don't have to spend money buying for those things because you already got one for them.

You can buy inexpensive frames and embellish them with buttons and odds and ends and put a family picture inside.....you can take your cans from soups or veggies....paint the outside white then splatter different colors of paint over it.....and fill with candy....also I have decoupaged snowmen etc from fabric on them...so cute!

I make a lot of my presents. One that is a huge favorite and people ask for it year after year is a box full of memories or sayings. You can put in one for each day of the year or one for every week, etc. Write down short memories of them (good times, funny things, things you love about them, etc.) or Zen sayings or whatever, one on each piece of paper. Fold well and drop in a tin that has a lid. Fill the can! People love it. It's free! I make pillows from used dryer sheets. I sew the sheets into a piece of cloth the size and shape I want then cover that with material the person would like--musical for someone who plays, cats for those who love kitties, etc. The outside cover is closed with velcro so it can be washed. It only takes about a half hour to make and people love them. Great for airplane pillows, decoration, under the neck when watching tv or reading, etc. Make some vegetable bags so veggies last! Unbleached muslin is the best material to use. Just hem one side which will be the opening then sew together the other 3 sides. Make it tall enough so it can be folded over. They put the veggies in it and they last 3x as long as if they are in plastic bags or uncovered. I tried it, it works! Do you have some flower seeds or can you buy some? They are cheap and so are pots that you can decorate. Seeds and a pot to grow them in that is filled with Christmas candy or cookies you bake yourself is always appreciated. Treats for the stomach and treats for the eyes and nose!

okay, i know this sounds a little crazy, but why not just buy a gift card for your friends. give them a certain balance to where they can spend it on something they want to give and you don't have to worry about whether or not they like it or hated it and you dont have to worry about buying material to make it either.

My daughter helps me out by making personalised cards for everyone because she loves drawing and painting. I like to make hampers and fill them with goodies that I know the recipient will love. I like to take special photos myself and frame them as gifts as well as albums with photos and souvenirs from special occasions such as trips etc.
