As tedemex mentioned, I like to download from cnet and zdnet since they are good reliable sites without spyware and viruses. I would be wary of downloading stuff from other sites.
I like to download from the homepage of software I like. That's another safe place...I don't take chances with other shady-looking sites...

It all depends on the type of softwares u need. It u want free licence type then download, filehippo and brothersoft dot com are the best ones. If you want shareware then buy it or go for warez sites like warezbb (dot)org, forumw(dot)org, katz(dot)cd.

What type of Software are you interested in as many there are many sites with set themes that you can download from, are you looking for free software or ones which require a fee?
