I always find myself searching for titles in the trade or philosophy section other than the best sellers or bargain books.
How about you?
Do you often go to bookstores?

literature, philosophy, then arts section. i often go to the regular bookstores at the malls when i have the extra money. but there's a small bookstore in my hometown that i just discovered this year to be selling old or used books they get from another country. they sell it for half the original price (in local currency) from the regular bookstores, and i just love it there. my recent classic finds were from that store. and i'm planning to buy more. i love old books for their charm and feel on my hands, lol.

I go very often (at least once a week) to one of the Big Box bookstores in my area (Barnes and Noble or Borders) just to wander around and pass time and to check out books I might be interested in.
I usually hit the bargain books, first, just like you. There are many times you can find a treasure or something you really want there. In terms of actual sections, I find myself in the cooking section, or the sports section, or the animated books first. That is where I spend the majority of my time, in fact.

I always check the paranormal and the occult section. I scan which books are interesting, then I move to the Hobbyist section.

i don't often visit bookstores. but if i do, i usually pass by the bargain area. i just browse for any book that might catch my interest. i am usually into novels or bestsellers. i feel i get a very good bargain if i buy it when it is on sale and because these books are also read by my children.

Hey.
Being a student means you don't have a lot of money to spend on books. So in a bookstore I always search for discounts and stuff. But when i get to the shell of books I do find myself separating romance/mystery novels from the others. My all time favourite book is The Beauty Thieves by Pascal Bruckner.
