I just got my new Seagate 320Gb external portable drive, I bought it just today and it cost me about $87 USD. The reason why I bought this thing is because I run out of space on my PC, I planned to transfer some of my most important file and backup my system at the same time. I'm also planning to buy 1 Terabyte soon if I have the budget. How about you Mylotters, have you bought an extra storage device? What is it and what is your purpose of buying it? Please share.

I have an external hard drive myself and it connects via one of my usb 2.0 ports. The maximum capacity of this hard drive is 250GB and it was quite expensive at the time when I bought it but I know that portable hard drives are becoming that much cheaper. Anyway, I bought it for back up purposes and I carry out a weekly backup on a Friday. I like the fact that they now have one Terabyte hard drives and I'm inclined to pick one of these up in due course. Andrew

Yeah I have bought my external storage about half year ago, but not 2.5" HDD, mine was 3.5" HDD Western Digital 640GB, yeah bigger size but cheaper, because I buy it only to backup my games files, and also a lot of pic and I don't plan to take it everywhere.

its all depends on your interest , that what you save on your PC a long time when we have a long list of these interest and storage then we required more storage . some time we delete the files but this is not possible for every files which stored inwhich my favorite music movie and games.
I also bought a 320 gb HDD 2 month ago and till is have only 20% free space after some time , i required more storage too.

external portable drive I think is the best option specially when doing backups but the price is little bit expensive, but it's portable and you can always carry it anywhere. What I just do for the mean time is do my backups on dvd's, the problem right now is my dvds are starting to pile up since I have tons of file to backup everytime, and organizing is a headache.
