Will going abroad make you give up your love??

Many students leave his bf/gf for study in another country every year.And most become alone after sometime,no matter the time is long or short.What makes them give up the love they once had?The distance ?The entironment ?Or what?
My bf has told me that he wanted to go abroad for study.I support his decision,for he wants to be a better man.It's right.But what will happen next three years???

if you love him just let him go and do what he wants, if he came back to you and then he is really yours...but in my case my partner doesn't give up, we just hang on tight with our relation and still going super strong..as if she is still around
