Today I borrowed a book entitled English debating. I think it will help me with my speaking and writing. Hopefully, I would turn a strong debator soon.

during school and college i was a regular participant in debates and group discussions. i think i have some skills.
well,i wish to let you know that the book would give you tips on the style and approach to debating... you would become a good debator when you listen to the other speakers and when you have a vast knowledge on the topic. finally, when you have the desire to become a strong debator, then needless to say, you have to have expressive and strong communication skills.
best wishes!!

No. I'm not. I'm not of that kind. I speak well and i can take part in discussions (in topic which i know) but i do not have that debating talent and style. I do not have interests in debating! When i was in my school i used to be among the top 3 students in my class. One day there was a debating contest and my class teacher gave my name without asking me. She had so much confidence in me that i can win the contest. But i told her that i can try to win a quiz competition or something like that but not debate. I refused to participate inspite of her forcing me to join. But i never! She was very disappointed. Later i went and apologised her and explained her that i do not have that debating talent. She understood me. But even today when i see her she use to talk about this!

No, I am not familiar with debating.
In my opinion, debating is really a difficult job to do for I am a shy boy and tend to stay somewhere alone. As you have said above, debating can help us with speaking and writing indeed. But if one want to be a strong debator, it seems that she/he should have a good knowledge of the society, the economics and the education and so on.
Good luck!
