Unable to format pen drive.

I just want to ask, when you have your usb memory stick plugged in via the usb port are you using and files or programs that are contained on the stick? I'm pretty sure that this happened to me. You should double check that no files or programs are running that originate from your memory stick and then try to format the pen drive again. Another option to try is, if you have antivirus on your system then scan this pen drive to see if anything is found in the way of viruses. It's important to try different things when it comes to computers. Anyway, good luck. Andrew

cant take any tension insert you pendrive to any other system and trying to formt it note one thing don't open your pendrive on that system. when system shows your pendrive is ready for use, go to the my computer and format it. if autoplay your pendrive, cancle it then format. do it and tell me. one other way you can use if some your friend's system have registered and updeted antivirus. use his system and format your pendrive. it definetly works. have a nice day.

u might have opened some other applications from that pen drive, so close all the applications related to the pen drive and format now..still if u have the problem, try to remove the pen drive using safety remove options, if u can remove safely, then ur computer do not have any problem, it is all with the pen drive ..so try ormatting again, if still it has the problem, try to insert to another computer and format..else u have to try some software...

I think your computer may be infected from virus..so you you are not able to format the pen drive.. bit you can try on your friends or neighbours system..i think..your pen drive may formated..

sanchet, you can try petousb.exe by GoCoding.com, it formats and makes bootable usb disk. It always works for, it's worth a try. cheers!

There could be a problem with either your system or the pen drive. Try restarting the system. After restarting, try formating the pen drive. I think this should help you solve the problem. If this doesn't work, try formatting the pen drive in another system if you have access to one.

Hi sanchet, There has a good way you to solve you problem. I also got the same as you lastly. What i do is get help from my friend laptop to format it. Maybe our computer got problem on that. If your friend too far from you, you try to find nearest who got computer. Then you try to format yours. I hope you will success. Regards. C.M
